Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobbi Black
Bobbi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been creative, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that I truly began to take my passion seriously. The world was going through the pandemic, and I saw an opportunity to finally pursue what I loved.
At that time, I was living in California, and I realized that a change of scenery was needed for my journey. I had two potential destinations in mind: New York and Texas. Ultimately, we chose Texas for its financial advantages, and my wife and I packed up our lives and left.
Since relocating, Texas has exceeded my expectations when it comes to the art scene. There are opportunities everywhere, and the artistic community here is incredibly supportive. I want to give a special shout-out to all the artists who have lent their guidance and encouragement along the way. It’s been a great journey so far, and I’m excited to see what else Texas has in store for me!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say I’ve faced any major struggles. As I’ve mentioned before, the art community has been incredibly generous with sharing information. The business side can be a bit frustrating, especially since my main focus is on creating and sharing my work. However, I’m learning and adapting along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Over the past two years, I’ve primarily worked with acrylic paint, but I don’t really specialize in any one medium. I like to explore various materials. What I’m most proud of is my consistency and my determination; I haven’t given up. I believe my current art style sets me apart from others, even as it continues to evolve.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is being able to pursue what I love. I have the freedom to express myself in any way I choose, without any time limits. Additionally, having a beautiful support system makes a huge difference; their encouragement fuels my creativity even more.
