Rising Stars: Meet Bridgett Prier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgett Prier.

Hi Bridgett, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
This is always a hard question for me to answer because there is so much to say. I believe that I was always meant to be where I am today, it just took me a while to realize it. As a kid, I was imaginative, loved to talk, and observed everything. As I got older those qualities started to play second fiddle to life responsibilities. I begin to choose my next steps based on practicality and not purpose. Don’t get me wrong, being practical isn’t always a bad thing but all things need balance. I went to college, got a “good” job but still felt like there was more for me to do, I wanted to make an impact on the world. In October 2017, I started BrandBP Marketing, part-time, to help small businesses build authentic and professional brands. It was my goal to help them elevate their branding and become a real contender in their industry. In January 2022, I took a leap of faith and went into business full-time. Today, my purpose is to build the brand behind small businesses. I believe that God has placed a gift on the inside of each one of us and I want to help you share it with the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! I hope this doesn’t discourage anyone, but entrepreneurship isn’t for the weak! This journey has challenged me in so many ways. Understanding funding was a big one! When I went full-time, the only way I planned to bring money into my business was through labor. I never thought about grants, loans, investors, accelerator programs, etc. Funding was a whole new world that I am still learning. Like many of us in this creative space, I struggled with imposter syndrome. Feeling like one day I was going to wake, and this dream would all be over. Looking at my wins as luck instead of focusing on the hard work I put in and the value I added to my clients. Lastly, I would say, getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I love being in my element, operating in spaces where I know what I am doing and I’m good at it. Though entrepreneurship offers me these moments, most of the time I am learning something new, growing, stepping out of my comfort zone, and taking risks.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I help solo entrepreneurs build the brand behind their business by developing an authentic brand identity that clearly represents who their brand is, what their brand does, and who it serves. Creating this level of clarity helps entrepreneurs operate with consistency and initiate collaborations to expand their business. I am most proud of betting on myself and staying the course even when it got hard. This allowed me to help many entrepreneurs get clear on their branding, rebrand their business, launch collections, and produce consistent content. It also offered me the opportunity to use my platform to highlight other brand creators, making impactful change in the earth, through an IG live series called Brand Chronicles with BP. My vision is what sets me apart. I have second-guessed many things, but I’ve always known I was a visionary. I have the ability to listen to my clients and bring their visions to life.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
That all things are really possible. Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Throughout this journey, I have been able to live this scripture out. I can remember when being a full-time entrepreneur was just a dream of mine and now it’s my reality. This lesson reminds me to never say never and continue to believe that my dreams do come true.
