Rising Stars: Meet Brooke Beatty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Beatty.

Hi Brooke, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My freshman year in high school I had to write an essay on what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had always been interested in the skin due to hormonal acne and hated how much it affected me. I tried to learn as much as I could in High School and ended up making clay masks to help a few football players struggling with acne. (And by clay masks I mean clay I found in ceramics class mixed with essential oils) So in 2014, I became a licensed Esthetician. I worked for a few med spas and loved the industry so much. Then in 2015 & 2016 our daughters Kennedy & Holland passed away unexpectedly and that put my career on hold for a bit. I took time to heal with my family. After a while, I realized that although I loved skin, I loved people more. And I missed being around people. So, I started taking clients again in late 2019. In 2021 we moved to the Dallas area and I started my business Velvet Bloom. Because of the hardships, I have experienced I don’t take the care of my client’s skin lightly. My passion comes from the people I meet and treatments I provide for them. In my experience, skincare and facials heal so much more than the surface. I believe that hope grows at Velvet Bloom.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Moving to a different state has been my biggest struggle. But I’m not going to lie, I love the challenge. I enjoy watching it slowly build into what it’s meant to be. Sometimes I think our biggest obstacles can be ourselves. I can get in my own way more than anything or anyone. I don’t allow ego to walk through my door. So, when I feel a struggle or challenge, I reach out to mentors or people I trust for some advice or validation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I provide customized skincare treatments to clients who want harmony and balance in their skin. I specialize in acne treatments, as well as anti-aging treatments to increase collagen bonds. Some of the treatments I provide are HydraFacials, customized advanced Chemical peels, Microchanneling, & Enzyme Therapy.

I believe in listening to my clients and taking a healing vs treating approach. I want to help heal what the core problem is vs. treating the surface. I like building a relationship through communication and trust with my clients. 90% of the clients I have treated after years of trying other alternatives have said that they didn’t feel heard. So, I make sure to hear & see them.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To slow down.

I used to be a fast-paced person. I felt like I always needed to go

Go go. But the more I have taken my time to pause and reflect on myself, my clients, my business & family I have felt whole. More fulfilled. People need whole people. How can I treat or heal anyone if I’m not here, all of me? I also look at life as an adventure. I embrace the twists and turns. I try to learn from the downs so the ups feel more triumphant.
