Rising Stars: Meet Carlos Vincent Steele

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Vincent Steele.

Hi Carlos Vincent, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started capturing professionally 2012. Prior to that, my passion for photography started in the 80’s. I have a niece who is my best friend in the world! Who was a Super Model for the prestigious Ebony Fashion Fair. My dream was to capture her because she was & still is the most beautiful woman in the world to me. She always would push me to be great and to go after my dreams.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has had it’s shares of highs and lows, however that’s what makes it worth while for me. I’m a Fashion & headshot photographer with an editorial Style of imagery. Dallas is more of a commercial market. For me, the challenge of building corporate clientele is an ever-challenging obstacle, yet I love being a full-time photographer because it challenges me to stay creative in my style of capturing. It keeps my work from looking like all the other amazing photographers in my area.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say I am best known for my Black & White Imagery style and how I capture women & men of color. My particular style of capturing any clients, be they aspiring or seasoned models, executives or even everyday people. I’ve been told by other industry professionals that they know I will deliver what is asked of me. I am most proud of my consistency and desire to not fit into the mold of what the next person is doing as far as their imagery and staying focused on what and who drives my passion forward.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I don’t charge as much as they think I do! Lol
