One of the biggest challenges has been growing the business in a highly competitive industry where reputation is everything. Every wedding is unique, with its own cultural traditions, family dynamics, and logistical complexities. We learned early on that success isn’t just about creating beautiful events—it’s about remaining calm under pressure, solving problems quickly, and adapting when unexpected situations arise.
The wedding industry also experienced significant challenges during and after the pandemic, forcing us to navigate postponements, changing regulations, and evolving client expectations. Those experiences strengthened our ability to be flexible, communicate effectively, and advocate for our couples throughout the planning process.

When I was growing Wedding Elegance NYC, I focused on getting to know venue managers, photographers, caterers, florists, DJs, and other planners. I wasn’t looking for immediate business; I wanted to understand how they worked and how we could support one another. Over time, those relationships turned into trusted partnerships and valuable referrals.
As for finding a mentor, my advice is to look for someone whose values and work ethic you admire—not just someone who is successful. A good mentor doesn’t simply provide answers; they challenge you to think differently, share honest feedback, and help you grow both personally and professionally. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, stay curious, and be willing to learn from everyone you meet.
