Rising Stars: Meet Chiamaka Enemkpali of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiamaka Enemkpali.

Hi Chiamaka, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m originally from Nigeria, born and raised, and I moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. I’m the firstborn of four sisters, and being the oldest definitely shaped a lot of who I am today. Currently, I’m a nurse practitioner by profession, and I’m also a wife and mom to three beautiful children. Motherhood is a huge part of my life—my kids keep me very busy, and I’m incredibly involved in making sure they’re getting the best upbringing possible.

Outside of my career, I’m also a content creator with a focus on family and fragrance. My family content gives a glimpse into our everyday life—full of love, laughter, and the real, sometimes chaotic moments that come with raising toddlers. I like to bring humor to those everyday challenges, not only to keep things lighthearted but to also remind other moms that they’re not alone in the journey of motherhood.

My love for fragrance started when I was very young. I was obsessed with my mom’s perfume collection, and I used to sneak into her closet to try on her scents. When I first came to America, I lived with my aunt who also had a beautiful collection. I’d go into her closet the night before school, spray some perfume on my clothes, and wear it proudly the next day—I loved how it made me feel and the compliments I’d get. Fragrance, to me, is more than just a scent; it’s a mood booster, a memory trigger, and a confidence enhancer.

Through my content, I love sharing that passion—teaching my audience about different ways to wear and layer fragrances, introducing them to new scents, and helping them find fragrances that reflect their unique personalities. I believe that how we smell is such an intimate part of who we are, and when we feel good about it, it really elevates how we carry ourselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every bump along the way has shaped me into who I am today.

Moving to a new country at 11 was a huge adjustment. I had to adapt to a completely different culture, learn a new way of life, and navigate the challenges of being an immigrant child trying to find her place. As the oldest of four girls, there was also a lot of responsibility placed on me early on, which taught me resilience but also came with pressure to always “have it together.”

Balancing my career as a nurse practitioner, being a present wife and mother to three young children, and growing my platform as a content creator has been incredibly rewarding, but also exhausting at times. There are days when mom guilt creeps in, or I feel like I’m stretched too thin trying to juggle it all. But I’ve learned to give myself grace and focus on being present in each role as best as I can.

On the content creation side, it hasn’t always been easy either. Building a platform takes time, consistency, and thick skin. I am still working towards my goal and still not there yet but I believe I will get there! Of course there were moments of doubt & wondering if anyone was really connecting with my content or if it was even making a difference. But I kept showing up because I genuinely love what I do, and knowing that I’m helping another mom feel seen or introducing someone to a scent they end up loving keeps me going.

So no, the road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been meaningful, full of growth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently a palliative care and hospice nurse practitioner. I previously worked in primary care, but as my family grew, I realized I needed a better work-life balance, something that would allow me to be more present with my husband and kids while still doing meaningful work. Transitioning into palliative care has given me that balance, and more importantly, it’s allowed me to serve patients in one of the most compassionate and impactful ways.

In palliative care, I work with patients and their families during some of the most vulnerable and emotionally complex times of their lives. My role involves helping manage symptoms, providing emotional support, and ensuring patients feel informed and empowered as they navigate serious illnesses. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a source of comfort and stability when people need it most.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend clinical expertise with deep empathy. I don’t just treat patients, I listen to their stories, understand their fears, and meet them where they are emotionally and spiritually. I’m also a strong advocate for educating families, so they feel less overwhelmed and more prepared for what’s ahead.

One of the things I’m most proud of is being able to maintain a meaningful career in healthcare while also being a fully present mom and wife. It’s not always easy, but finding a path that allows me to give my best to both my patients and my family is something I’m truly grateful for.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my family, hands down. They are my foundation, my motivation, and the reason behind so many of the decisions I make. Being a present and intentional wife and mom means everything to me. I want my children to grow up feeling loved, supported, and seen. I want them to know that they can pursue their dreams while also keeping their values and priorities in check.

Outside of my family, it also matters deeply to me that I’m making a difference in people’s lives; whether that’s through my work in palliative care, helping patients and families during some of their most difficult moments, or through my content creation, encouraging and uplifting other moms or helping someone discover a fragrance that boosts their confidence. I want everything I do to leave people feeling better, lighter, or more inspired than before.
