Rising Stars: Meet Courtney Zuber

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Courtney Zuber again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Courtney , always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
I’m Courtney Zuber, the owner of Cone Flower Designs, a wedding and event floral company based in Salado, TX. What sets us apart? We’re all about combining stunning, artful floral design with a streamlined, stress free experience for our couples and clients.

My journey into florals started with a passion for design and a love for making people’s big moments even more beautiful. Over the years, I’ve built a brand that not only provides high end custom florals through Cone Flower Designs, but also offers a budget friendly alternative with Simplee Cone, a sister company featuring curated floral collections at a lower price point.

Beyond flowers, I love sharing education and behind-the-scenes insights into the floral industry. Whether it’s tips, tricks, or real talk about what goes into creating floral installs, I want to be a resource for florists and flower lovers alike.

It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful to do what I love, bringing creative floral visions to life while helping others navigate the world of flowers!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Things have been moving fast, and it’s been such an exciting season for both Cone Flower Designs and Simplee Cone, plus some big personal milestones too!

One of the biggest shifts in our business has been stepping into the digital product space. Over the past year, we started offering digital products to help florists stay organized and work more efficiently. It started with our Venue Details Document, a game-changer for tracking venue measurements, structures, and logistics, reducing the back-and-forth with venues. From there, we expanded into resources like our Flower Library & Processing Guide plus Templates for Florists, giving floral designers tools to streamline their businesses and processes. The response has been amazing, and it’s been so rewarding to see these resources helping others in the industry!

On top of that, Simplee Cone has been growing! When we first launched, the goal was to offer a lower-cost floral option without sacrificing quality. Our pre-designed collections give clients an affordable way to get fresh florals while still having the freedom to personalize their look. Seeing couples and event hosts love the concept and run with it has been really exciting. It’s also challenged me to think differently about how we serve people and make floral design more accessible.

And on the personal side, I got married in November! It was such a special day, and being on the other side of the wedding experience gave me a whole new perspective. As a florist, I’ve always known how important flowers are, but seeing my own wedding come together really reinforced just how much florals set the tone for an event. It’s definitely influenced how I approach my work now!

With everything happening, I’m most excited about expanding our digital resources, growing Simplee Cone, and finding new ways to support other florists. There’s so much possibility ahead, and I can’t wait to see where things go next!

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
I want people to remember Cone Flower Designs as more than just a floral business, we’re a brand built on artistry, authenticity, and intention. Flowers are what we create, but at the heart of it all, we’re about making the floral process stress-free, approachable, and exciting for our clients while delivering truly breathtaking designs. Whether it’s a fully customized wedding through Cone Flower or an effortless, budget-friendly option through Simplee Cone, the goal is always the same: to make flowers feel special, personal, and seamlessly integrated into each event.

Beyond the work itself, I want people to see Cone Flower Designs as a resource, a trusted voice in the floral industry, and a place where florists and clients alike feel supported. That’s why we’ve put so much energy into our education and digital products helping florists stay organized, understand their craft better, and build stronger businesses. I truly believe that when we share knowledge and experiences openly, it elevates the entire industry.

At the end of the day, I want people to remember our brand for being honest, fun, and always putting creativity first. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our work seriously. We love what we do, we care deeply about our clients, and we’re always evolving whether it’s through new designs, new collections, or new ways to support the floral community. Flowers are fleeting, but the experience we create for our clients and the impact we have on the industry is what lasts.
