Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Jimenez.
Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began as I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2003 and spent years behind the chair, building my skills and forming lasting relationships with clients. Over time, I recognized that people’s lives were getting busier and their needs were changing, so I decided to transition into being a mobile stylist.
Becoming mobile allowed me to bring convenience and comfort directly to my clients while still offering the same level of care and excellence. It also gave me the opportunity to connect with people in a more personal way, turning each appointment into a moment of encouragement and confidence. What started as a simple passion has become both a career and a calling, and I am grateful every day to use my gift to help others feel seen, valued, and renewed.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been seasons of uncertainty, times when I had to completely start over, and moments when I questioned if I was still on the right path. Building a business takes resilience, and there were periods when finances, family responsibilities, and self-doubt all tested my commitment.
Transitioning to mobile styling came with its own challenges, like learning how to manage scheduling, transportation, and adapting to different environments. But each challenge has shaped me. I’ve learned to trust God’s timing and to see every setback as preparation for something greater. Those experiences taught me patience, flexibility, and the importance of staying faithful even when things don’t go as planned.
Looking back, I can honestly say the rough seasons made me stronger, more grounded, and more appreciative of how far I’ve come.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist with over 20 years of experience, and I specialize in precision cuts men and women, color, highlights, perms, roller sets for my older ladies, and extensions. With a strong focus on maintaining healthy, beautiful hair, I’ve always believed that great hair starts with care, and I make it a priority to educate my clients on how to keep their hair healthy between visits.
Since becoming a mobile stylist, I’ve been able to bring that same salon quality experience directly to my clients’ doors. It allows me to create a personal, private, and comfortable environment where they can relax and truly enjoy the process.
What I’m most proud of is the trust and loyalty I’ve built with my clients over the years. Many of them have become like family. I take pride in giving every person who sits in my chair more than just a style; I give them confidence. That’s what sets me apart. I don’t see this as just doing hair; I see it as using my God-given gift to make people feel seen, valued, and beautiful inside and out.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve learned that growth always comes with some level of risk. For a long time, I stayed in my comfort zone because I liked stability and knowing what to expect. But when I felt God nudging me to step out of the traditional salon setting and become a mobile stylist, I knew it was time to trust Him and take that leap.
Making that transition was a major risk in itself. I was stepping away from the security of a salon and learning to operate in a completely new way. But what amazed me most was how supportive my clients were. They believed in me, encouraged me, and made that change feel less scary. Their loyalty reminded me that sometimes the biggest risks bring the biggest rewards.
Honestly, being in business itself is risky. You’re constantly putting your faith, creativity, and energy on the line. But I’ve learned that when God gives you a vision, He’ll also give you the courage to walk it out. Every time I’ve stepped out in faith, He’s met me right there and that’s where I’ve seen the most growth, both personally and professionally.
