Hi Dasani, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2020, when the world was turned upside down by COVID, high schooler Dasani Taylor started Everything Solè. What began as a way to explore yummy fragrances and fix her own skin issues turned into something much bigger. She wanted products that combined holistic practices with irresistible scents, not just for herself but also for her little sister, Danaya.
Danaya has severe autism and eczema, which made her life a constant struggle. Being nonverbal, she couldn’t express her discomfort, so it became Dasani’s mission to find a solution to help her sister.
After two years of perfecting her products, Dasani found success. Everything Solè hit it big with the “Angry Customer” series, reaching 4 million views and winning over customers worldwide. These amazing supporters, lovingly called “Sweeties,” helped the brand grow even more.
Now, four years in, Everything Solè continues to create nature-based products that really work. Each one is designed to pamper and refresh your skin, making you feel like you’re getting a warm hug from nature. This is a story of determination, love, and a dream that keeps on growing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business isn’t as easy as it seems. My first challenge was being a young entrepreneur—I began my business dream at 17. I had to start from scratch, figuring out what my business was all about and where I fit in such a crowded industry. Defining our style as a new self-care company was tough.
Then came the product recipes. I experimented to find out what worked and which herbs could enhance skin radiance. Quality skincare isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good, too, and we wanted our products to be enriching.
We also aimed to be inclusive for children and adults with autism. Inspired by my sister Danaya, we created Unicorn Hugs and Marshmallow Fluff body butter. Our products are designed to offer a jiggly creamy experience and ensure that everyone can enjoy smooth, luscious skin. We wanted to create a range of fun products that cater to their needs while making their skincare routine a joyful experience.
Running a business has taught me that there’s always something new around the corner. Whether it’s coming up with fresh ideas, reaching new customers around the globe, or juggling the many roles expected of me, I’ve found a love for what I do that outweighs any obstacle. Every day isn’t easy, but when you have a dream and believe in it, it’s all worth it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Aside from my love for delightful scents, I’m passionate about photography and digital art. There’s something magical about capturing an image and transforming it into whatever I imagine. A huge part of Everything Solè’s (So-lay) charm comes through in our product photos. I take great joy in showcasing the aromas, setting, and essence of our products through imagery. We pride ourselves on having a truly unique aesthetic.
When it comes to vendor events, we go all out. Our booth is known for its vibrant display and our catchy slogan. But what I’m most proud of is seeing the smiles on our customers’ faces, no matter their age or background. It’s incredible to connect with people through self-care and turn those moments into lasting memories.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success means creating something lasting—building a legacy I can pass on. My goal is to build something that outlives me, touches many lives, and creates beautiful moments. Success isn’t handed to you; anyone can have a dream, but it takes real grit to build something that endures for generations. That’s what success means to me.
