Rising Stars: Meet Diamond Godbolt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Godbolt.

Hi Diamond, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Diamond. I am a part-time speech pathologist, designer, and digital creator. On my blog @thediamonddenise, I share my genuine lifestyle experiences to inspire those in and out of my community. I went through a season of figuring out who I am and what I wanted to do. I thought I had figured it out many times, but life is the best teacher. After three-plus years of trying to find the perfect moment that turned into procrastination when launching my blog in 2020, I PURPOSE(ly) chose to share progress over perfection. Since then, my goal has been to share almost every moment authentically,by the grace of God.

I have always been a creative person. I have a talent for having a vision and bringing it to life: Creating has allowed me to tell a story that I could not always put into words. As I’ve gotten older, my creation process has evolved, and I have learned that my talents were never just for me; they had a greater purpose. I have focused on my God-given purpose and authenticity to get me to where I am today. It’s my desire that lives, especially women’s, continue to be encouraged, influenced, educated, and entertained as we keep growing and “glowing”.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth having comes easy. If the road was smooth, I don’t think I would appreciate the journey. Though it’s not about the numbers, they are a measure of growth, and it has been amazing to watch my numbers start from 0 to where they are now.

I have struggled with many things, but self-doubt, fear, comparison, and failure would be the biggest because I had to overcome myself. I wanted to give up, but creating always pulled at my heart. I am a creator, and they say we are some of the most sensitive people about what we make and that is absolutely true. It can be disheartening when you put time and effort into something and receive little to no feedback. I have learned that it’s not my job to find people but focus on consistently creating good content and perfecting my craft.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I share my lifestyle and journey of the impact made in my field as a Speech Pathologist, a Black woman, and a designer on social media. I specialize in being me and am known for being very transparent. I’ve created platforms like @theslpway on IG to share my journey and the journey of others as a Speech Pathologist to bring more awareness to the field through authentic experiences and @thediamonddenise on IG to share inspiration, fashion, and lifestyle tips from my narrative.

I am proud that I have never been afraid to start over. I am currently working on some things that I am excited to share as they unfold to help young girls in my community. What sets me apart is my motivation and purpose for people
