Today we’d like to introduce you to Dolores Cantu.
Hi Dolores, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Can2 Moble RV Repair LLC because I saw a real need in my community for dependable RV service that people could actually access without long wait times or traveling out of town. I began by taking mobile calls and helping customers where they were — RV parks, driveways, and roadside stops — building my reputation one repair at a time through honest work and strong customer service.
As demand grew, I invested back into the business with tools, parts, and better systems so I could take on more jobs and deliver faster turnaround. Over time, my business became more than mobile repairs — customers started asking for a place they could come to for parts, maintenance, and bigger repairs. That’s what pushed me to grow toward a storefront and expanded service operation in Decatur so I can serve local residents and travelers passing through the US-287 corridor.
Today, I’m focused on scaling in a smart way: expanding services, increasing inventory for RV parts and supplies, creating steady local jobs, and making RV maintenance and repair more convenient for Wise County and the surrounding area.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I think people see a business running and assume it all came together quickly, but for me it’s been a lot of long days, problem-solving on the spot, and pushing through seasons where quitting would’ve been the easier choice.
One of the biggest struggles has been doing it without a safety net. When you’re building from the ground up, every tool, every part, every expense comes out of what you’ve earned. There were times I had to choose between what the business needed and what I needed personally — and I still showed up because my customers were counting on me.
Another challenge has been credit and funding. I’ve had to work twice as hard to prove myself, because growth takes money — inventory, equipment, space — and it’s not always easy to get support when you’re still building your track record. So a lot of my progress has come from reinvesting, being disciplined, and staying consistent even when it felt slow.
And honestly, one of the hardest parts has been wearing all the hats. I wasn’t just the mechanic — I was also the scheduler, the person answering calls, ordering parts, doing paperwork, following up with customers, and trying to market the business. It can be exhausting, and it can feel lonely, but it also made me stronger and more confident in what I’m building.
What kept me going was knowing why I started — I wanted to be reliable for people, to build something real in my community, and to create a business my family can be proud of. The struggles didn’t stop me — they shaped me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run Can2 Moble RV Repair LLC in Decatur, and my work is focused on helping RV owners feel safe, comfortable, and confident in their rigs—whether they’re local families or travelers passing through the US-287 corridor. A lot of people call when they’re stressed, stuck, or worried about the cost, so I try to bring calm to the situation, explain what’s going on in plain language, and handle the repair the right way.
I specialize in mobile and in-shop RV maintenance and repairs, and I’m especially known for tackling the issues that can ruin a trip if they aren’t handled quickly—roof repairs and leak prevention, welding and frame repairs, and A/C diagnosis and repair. Roof and water damage can turn into a big, expensive problem fast, so I’m big on finding the source, fixing it correctly, and helping customers understand how to prevent it from happening again. On the welding and frame side, My team take pride in doing solid, safe work that people can trust on the road. And in Texas heat, getting an A/C system working again is more than comfort—it’s peace of mind.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built this from the ground up. I didn’t start with a big budget or a big team. I started with my hands, my skills, and a promise to treat every customer with respect. Most of my business has come from word-of-mouth and repeat customers, and that means everything to me because trust is earned—especially in an industry where people have had bad experiences or felt taken advantage of.
And I want to give a huge thank you to my crew—Hayden, Jameson, Dylan, Brandon, and Eddie. They are a major asset to our team, and I truly appreciate their hard work, dedication, and the pride they bring to every job.
What sets us apart is a mix of integrity, communication, and urgency. I show up, I keep people updated, and I don’t upsell. If something can wait, I’ll tell you. If it’s unsafe, I’ll tell you that too. I treat customers the way I’d want my own family treated—honest work, fair pricing, and no surprises. I’m also proud to be a woman-owned business in a field where you don’t always see that. I want my story to remind people that consistency, professionalism, and heart can build something real—and I’m just getting started.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that your reputation is everything — and it’s built in the moments nobody sees.
Doing the right thing when it would be easier to rush, being honest even if it costs you a sale, communicating when a job gets complicated, and standing behind your work… that’s what keeps people coming back. Skills matter, but trust is what grows a business.
I’ve also learned to be patient with the process. Progress doesn’t always look big day-to-day, but if you stay consistent, keep improving, and protect your name, it adds up faster than you think.
