Rising Stars: Meet Dominique Jones of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Jones.

Hi Dominique, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started with a passion for creating spaces that bring people together through energy, culture, and experience. That vision became Jam Box, which has grown into two distinct but connected brands.

On one side, we have Jam Box Fitness—a high-energy, music-driven fitness experience focused on community, wellness, and empowerment. On the other, we have the Jam Box Event Venue, where we host everything from birthdays and graduations to weddings and private celebrations. Both sides are rooted in the same goal: creating memorable, feel-good experiences for our community.

The journey hasn’t been linear—I’ve had to learn, pivot, and build in real time—but that’s what’s shaped the brand into what it is today. Along the way, I’ve also expanded into event production and partnerships, while supporting my daughter Raven as she builds her own platform on a national stage.

Today, I’m focused on continuing to grow both sides of Jam Box and creating experiences that go beyond expectations. For me, it’s always been about impact, community, and building something that lasts.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the toughest periods was navigating COVID—like many in the fitness and event industry, we had to face unexpected shutdowns, shifting guidelines, and a lot of uncertainty. It challenged everything, from operations to staying connected with our community.

Another difficult moment came after ten years in business. While we’ve grown to three locations, I made the decision to close the fitness side of our original location to focus solely on events. That space holds so much history for me and our community, so it wasn’t an easy decision—it was emotional. But it was necessary for the long-term vision and growth of the brand.

Balancing all of this while running multiple locations and being a mom has required resilience and focus. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, trust my instincts, and make decisions that align with where I see Jam Box going next.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner of Jam Box, which operates as both a fitness brand and an event venue—two distinct sides built around the same core idea: creating elevated, memorable experiences.

On the fitness side, I got started at a time when boutique gyms were just beginning to emerge. My niche was creating a space that felt more like an ultra lounge than a traditional gym—high energy, music-driven, and design-focused. I’ve always loved designing spaces, and I wanted people to walk in and instantly feel a shift in atmosphere. That approach really set us apart early on.

On the event side, we became known as one of the few venues in the area where you could host a beautiful, intimate event for under 100 guests without spending thousands on décor. The space already felt elevated, so clients didn’t have to do much to make it special—and that accessibility, combined with the aesthetic, made us stand out.

What I’m most proud of is building something that has lasted and evolved. Over the years, we’ve grown, adapted, and maintained a strong presence in a market that’s now filled with boutique fitness brands and event venues. We have three locations, Frisco, the Design District and across from Galleria Mall.

What sets us apart is our foundation. We’ve built a reputation in the city through consistency, creativity, and long-standing relationships. And even as the industry grows, we’re always focused on staying ahead of the curve while continuing to deliver the same level of experience people have come to expect from Jam Box.

How do you define success?
I define success as building something that lasts and continues to evolve. For me, it’s not just about numbers—it’s about impact, consistency, and being able to adapt while staying true to your vision.

Success is having a business that has stood the test of time, created real relationships in the community, and continues to serve people in a meaningful way. It’s also the ability to make decisions that align with long-term growth, even when they’re not the easiest in the moment.

On a personal level, success means having the freedom to create, to lead, and to be present for my family while doing what I love. If I can continue to grow, inspire others, and build something that leaves a lasting impression, that’s success to me.
