Rising Stars: Meet Elisha Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisha Williams.

Hi Elisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Austin, TX raised in Oklahoma City, OK and now I’m back, I’ve been living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area now for over 14 years now. Since the young age of 12 fashion has truly been a precious life-changing experience for me. I fell in love with the fact that when you look good, you feel good. Which could mean anything for the next person, for me the simple fact of pairing my favorite shoe with a new dress, or bottom. Or searching for that perfect shoe to match my outfit. Really gives me such a rush, that I truly love.

No limited options, anything is possible in fashion.

I know most children around my age back then were running around outside playing, not caring about what we had on, unlike me I was playing dress-up, sewing, and cutting old clothes putting them together. Making what I thought was fashion. Now some of my outfits were cute, but who would have knew that, this would become my newfound passion and love for fashion.

After not finishing high school right away, I worked full-time and overtime hours to take care of my daughter to provide for us. I knew I couldn’t do this alone and needed a little help.

Fast forward I ended up in a domestic violent relationship/marriage, almost losing my life and causing years of depression, and hurt. Ladies, it’s ok to leave rather to become a memory. I thank God for my mother and my family.

I’m truly blessed to be here today, healthy, in a stress-less environment, and not depressed. I took everything back that he thought he could take from me. It might have taken me a little longer than I expected, but I believe it was all in God’s timing. I’ve lost a lot of people along the way, who I thought had good intentions for me.

In 2015-2017 I went back to school and received my high school diploma and then went to continue my to school. I earned a C.R.C.S.T certification and received other certifications in the healthcare field. Gaining knowledge to have a new career. Placing a pause on my first love in fashion industry.

I remember the exact day, time, and place it came apparent to me. That I was called to get back into the fashion world I was at this cute unisex boutique called.

Guns & Roses Boutique in Dallas Texas around 2 pm on June 10th, 2016, this was the very moment I knew I could have a beautiful boutique of my own also. Having the boutique owner, Princess, help me put together an outfit the same way I would have, gave me that official push to do what I needed to do.

As I began to research and figure out what were my next steps, everything I learned over those years came rushing back to me. Not even realizing that I’ve been grooming and preparing myself this entire whole time. Back in 2009, I worked at a grocery store as a floral clerk in the floral department, years later I then moved to the front end. After that, I worked for an upscale women’s boutique where I climbed the retail ladder from sales associate, sales lead, to assistant manager, to running a mall shoe store by myself. Quickly learning the ins and outs to the retail business.

As of today, I’m going back to school to become an esthetician I love the idea of creating my own skincare line since I’ve become very big on skincare, self-care, healthy habits, and feeling good.

I’m living proof that you can find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I’m here to help guide you through the fashion world while creating memorable moments. Not only am I your personal confidant stylist, I can also offer my personal glam squad team. Hand-picked of DFW’s finest professional, licensed, and certified Nail Techs, Hairstylist, and Makeup Artist. Whatever you need, I will help you achieve. Every item in my collection is hand-picked. No matter how old, young, what size you are, or the color of your skin. You are beautiful, and I’m here to help you make sure you understand that.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working for myself is a struggle in itself. Let alone in a pandemic. This road was not an easy travel and I didn’t expect it to be, I know nothing having comes easy. Overcoming every obstacle is not always considered a lost but a lesson learned, rather I fell down and had to pick myself back up, or losing someone close to me that meant something special to me. Knowing that I have another chance to try again and realizing that life is so precious, and never take that for granted.

I’m learning new life lessons and daily lessons every day.

Staying up late researching, working on plans, and building business relationships.

From working on my business credit to finding reliable vendors. Losing more sleep, early mornings, long days, lost packages, and the list goes on. All of the other details you don’t hear too often about.

All while making sure my daughter is taking care of, which by the way she’s a great artist and honor student and has grand things in store for herself and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Now me planning to attend school again was never not a thought in the back of my head, it sure wasn’t the do right now thing on my lists to do either.

Learning to take things one day at a time, and never losing sight of what I have been destined for.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Owner of It’s Cupcake’s Boutique

I wanted to create a boutique where women meet another side to a classy, sassy, and even a little sexier look.

Styles ranging from a huge selection of clothing options. From casual to date nights, activewear, shoes to proms and wedding attire, and anything in between.

I carry sizes ranging from x small to 3xL in women’s and I also wanted to add babygirl clothing to the boutique, right now I have sizes 0-24 months and 2t through 8t in kids.

Known for hand-selecting each piece in my collection, I pride myself on the quality and the feel of the garments how many wears, looks and uses you can achieve with each piece of the collection.

Most items are staple pieces.

What sets It’s Cupcake’s Boutique apart from others, I want women from all over to feel comfortable in their own skin. While maintaining longevity, within my clothing brand with quality materials, affordability, and most important comfortableness. I want women to believe in themselves, and know that you are beautiful no matter who said what. Providing additional services, like hairstyling, nail art, facial’s, makeup art, and body contouring, are all available options. Believing in yourself and feeling beautiful again is my goal. What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the fact that everything is bigger in Texas no matter what city you’re in. You can go to just about any city in Texas and find a gem somewhere. Rather it’s a great food spot or a scenic area. Dislikes would have to be.

The crime and the traffic.

Can we all just get along, slow down a little, and use blinkers.
