Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth & Edson Pliego-Garcia.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started our journey in March ’23. With no previous experience in baking, we found a passion we didn’t know we had.
As many, the main reason for us to adventure ourselves into the small business world was to be able to provide a better life for our family.
I (Elizabeth) found inspiration in the memories I have of my late grandmother and her love for flowers that she shared with me since I was 3yo.
We wanted to bring something unique, different, and beautiful to our community, and that’s how we came up with the idea of focusing our business in making flower cupcakes. Little by little, we started implementing bouquets, numbers and letters, cakes, and many more options.
It hasn’t always been easy, but we have all the will and passion to keep working hard. To better ourselves day by day in order to provide the best experience to our customers and be able to put a smile on their faces.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Hasn’t been easy. Finding the right balance between work, family, and working on growing a business requires patience, a lot of hard work, and sacrificing some sleep (haha), but we have a great support system in our families, friends, and of course, our customers who make a lot of this possible.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We consider what we do a form of art. From designing each order choosing the right colors that would make the arrangement look beautiful to constantly coming up with new ideas and Items for our menu. Our cupcakes are so unique. We all know how appreciated is a flower arrangement; now imagine one that you can admire and also degust.
I think we are proud of the way we have compromised on giving our all to make this work. We have became more united as family, and feels so great that we are working as one for our goals.
What are your plans for the future?
At the moment, we are focusing on building our base. Overcoming obstacles, learning the do’s and don’ts. And waiting to see how this 1st year goes. God’s will first, the wish is to have a storefront in the future.
