Rising Stars: Meet Emili Urdaneta of Dallas, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emili Urdaneta.

Emili Urdaneta

Hi Emili, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story began in Venezuela, where I discovered my passion for makeup and beauty at a very young age. There, I worked at my own modeling academy, where I had the opportunity to train many girls and teenagers. It was something I deeply enjoyed, as I was born with a gift for teaching and I love sharing my knowledge. I always knew my purpose was to enhance beauty, but I never imagined how far that path would take me.

When I emigrated here to the United States, I had to give up everything and start from scratch with my family. I arrived with my dreams, my tools, and a strong desire to succeed.
It was a time of great patience and adjustment. We were in the middle of the immigration process, and I was also pregnant with my second daughter. It was a stage in which everything had to take shape little by little, so I couldn’t start working in what I loved, but I would learn to trust the process and understand that every pause also paves the way for something greater.

After my daughter was born, I started doing makeup from home, without many tools, but with all my heart. Over time, I specialized in eyebrows, showcasing my work on social media. People began to notice my style, my attention to detail, and the experience I offered. My clientele grew, and I was able to open my own beauty studio.

In 2023, I was in an accident where I almost lost my life. I fractured my arm and hip, which forced me to stop completely. It was a difficult and challenging time, but it was also the turning point that allowed me to rediscover my purpose.

After overcoming that difficult process, I understood that I needed to create something that transcended my individual work and, in turn, helped other professionals project their value and talent through their image.

That’s how GLAMNOVA SCRUBS was born: a uniform brand with the goal of elevating the professional image of every woman in the beauty and aesthetics field, combining elegance, functionality, and exclusivity. Each design reflects my vision that appearance also communicates excellence and care, and that a uniform is more than just clothing; it’s a powerful visual tool for respect and trust.

Today, I look back and am filled with emotion and pride to see everything he built here. Every stage of my journey has been proof that dreams do come true when you work with passion, faith, and purpose.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy: it’s the result of years of passion, dedication, resilience, and love for what I do. Every obstacle, every pause, and every challenge taught me to believe in myself, to stay true to my vision, and to transform difficulties into opportunities.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, being an immigrant and starting from scratch hasn’t been easy at all; but it’s been incredibly rewarding for me because it’s shown me how strong and resilient I am and made me value even more everything I’ve built in this country. I began my immigration process in Mexico, where it was a real test of patience for my family, and where I even had to sleep on the floor. Arriving here pregnant was incredibly hard and challenging because I had to work many different jobs—from construction to painting—which was very demanding for me. Even so, I always knew that this stage was temporary, and I never lost sight of where I wanted to go.

In 2023, I faced an accident that forced me to stop and rethink everything. All these challenges have taught me to be brave, resilient, and possess unstoppable strength. Each challenge became an impetus to keep moving forward. Today, I can look back with gratitude, knowing that each experience has prepared me to grow, lead, and build a future full of purpose and passion.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Venezuelan lawyer, Makeup & PMU Artist, Cosmetic Injector, and founder of Glamnova Scrubs. I am dedicated to enhancing not only appearance but also transforming how women project their confidence and talent to the world, understanding that the image we present is a powerful tool to stand out and lead in any professional environment.

I specialize in eyebrow micropigmentation and educating others, as I am passionate about teaching. This has led me to offer courses and train other professionals, sharing my experience and leadership vision in the industry.

I have established myself and gained recognition thanks to discipline, consistency, and meticulous attention to my own professional image, which has allowed me to build trust, credibility, and authority in my field.

I am proud to have built everything from the ground up with hard work, facing the challenges of being an immigrant, adapting to a new country, motherhood, and overcoming a car accident. Each challenge has made me stronger, more resilient, and more determined.

What sets me apart is that I not only deliver exceptional results in technique and aesthetics, but I also inspire and lead, showing that image, passion, and professional excellence go hand in hand to leave a real mark on the beauty industry.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the beauty industry will continue to evolve significantly. More and more people understand that it’s not just about “looking good,” but about feeling confident, projecting self-assurance, and cultivating a professional image.

The beauty industry is entering a new era where professional image and authenticity are becoming just as important as technique. In the coming years, we will see tremendous growth in personalized professional training, the use of technology and digital education, and the creation of brands that connect with real values, not just aesthetics.

Furthermore, beauty professionals will no longer be seen simply as those who “beautify,” but as trusted mentors, educators, and role models for well-being and personal image. I am excited to be part of this change, contributing through teaching, innovation, and projects like Glamnova, which aim to elevate the perception of beauty professionals worldwide.
