Rising Stars: Meet Jamari Eaden of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamari Eaden

Hi Jamari, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
TALJAMUZO is a trio band featuring vocalist Donnell Brown (‘Don Hulio’). The band members include Talib “Twist” Lands on drums and vocals, Jamari Eaden (j the egg) on guitar, and Uzo “Blakk Mambo” Aharanwa on bass. We originally met in a 6-piece band, and decided to break off from that to do our own thing. We are still up and coming on trajectory to conquer the Dallas Metroplex and the world at large.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Realistically, no road is that smooth, and ours hasn’t been any different. Coming from the 6-piece band we came from to this wasn’t initially the plan, but the decision towards higher professionalism has paid off significantly.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a group of professional musicians specializing in entertainment for others and amassing crowds to enjoy our performances. We’re known for putting a “twist” on every cover we play, but primarily we intend to play our original music. What sets us apart is that we don’t just play music, we take people on a journey, and we do that with songs people will be familiar with, and through introducing them to new music. The show starts as soon as we arrive through our engagement with the audience. Something we are most proud of is that we all genuinely like each other as people, which also sets us apart from most bands.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
We love how many connections we can make to people who want to hear our music else where, as well as networking with highly reputable people who are established within the industry. DFW has more opportunities (especially for creatives) than there are people to play for. As far as what we least like, Dallas is always under construction, and it impedes our movement around the city, making it harder to travel to venues and arrive in a timely fashion.
