Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Williams.
Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with the need of re-finding myself, I had just had my first child and was not only adjusting to being a new mom but was dealing with an unfamiliar event of living through a pandemic. Time was all I had and I took advantage of that to create with my hands, I wanted to try working with different mediums and resin happened to be the first contender. I was thrilled with my first piece and feeling absolutely accomplished in making my first resin geode. It brought me such joy to hold and hang that little 10×10 sized canvas, I was immediately hooked and knew I had to make more!
I’ve always had a creative essence about me, but I also have always had a natural entrepreneurial mindset. I always think of business savvy moves and ideas, even if I never implemented them. However, I really wanted to take a leap of faith with this and give it a chance. I struggled for several days with the name of my new business venture and kept going back and forth, I finally called my mom and told her of my new endeavor, the struggle I was having with who I wanted to be known as. Who was Jasmine going to be in this sea of artists? Jasmine Designs, no, Jai Luxe Designs, no that’s horrible mom …I finally asked, what do you think my nana would name it? See, my grandmother was a positive encourager of loving the world of art and seeing the beauty in things, she was a brilliant artist herself by the way. She was such a free and loving spirit; I truly miss her so much. Like a lightbulb, it clicked Vanzzini Art Studio. I wanted to honor my grandma and name this journey after her maiden name. I ended that call with such a clear vision of what I wanted to do and started feeling the wheels turning in my head. I immediately created my logo, created my website, and finished the other canvases I purchased. I made my first official post on social media and sold them all within 2 hours… it was a hit!
I felt so happy, excited, and like I found a little piece of my old self but better in some way. I immediately started receiving more and more requests to create stunning works of art, while growing my social media presence and slowly growing into the style everyone sees and loves today. I didn’t want to stop with just canvas work though, I knew I wanted to start the process of building an empire not matter what it took. I curated my own pigments and introduced my Luxe Powder line November 25, 2020, and have grown ever since. Plans for added quality art supplies are in the works for my business and brand. I also introduced teaching how to create the type of art I make, I launched my own Resin 101: Mini Geode Beginners E-Course on May 10, 2021. I wanted to bring quality learning into the comforts of home with step-by-step videos and educational information for anyone interested in learning resin, the right and safest way.
I’m beyond excited to see what this new year brings for Vanzzini Art Studio, my passion and drive has built this vision and I am truly very proud of how far I’ve come and where I know this is going.
If you are ever in the need for a piece of luxurious art, please reach out to me, I would love the opportunity to create for you. If you are ever interested in learning how to work with resin, reach out to me to get more information on taking my course.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t believe any business has had a smooth road, for myself, the struggles I face are balance. I currently still work full time within my profession during the day and I am studying for a state license, add in being a wife and mother, it can get a little overwhelming at times. Boundaries have become a necessity with running things smoothly and respectfully of my time and energy. I am definitely one to work a full day, come home spend time with my family and work on art from 9 at night until 7 the next morning to go right back into the office. I had to learn how to utilize time management as best as I can and allowing myself a break a day or two out of the week to re-center myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Vanzzini Art Studio is your go-to local small business if you are seeking head-turning art within your space. I work with various mediums from acrylics to alcohol inks, but my primary medium that I am known for is resin.
I bring a sense of luxury to any space a piece of my art is brought into, not matter how big or small the piece is, each custom piece is hand-made with passion and bringing your vision to life.
I offer amazing rates with several payment plan options from Sezzle and Affirm to private financing where you get to decide the dates and amounts due for each payment and shipping is always on me, you never pay any shipping costs. If you are local to the metroplex, I am always able to personally hand-deliver your canvas to you.
I bring the opportunity of luxury to those who thought they could never have such pieces within their spaces, it’s a great feeling knowing I can offer that.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
To an extent, I believe in luck, but I believe more in working for what you want and have.
As for my business, I am very blessed for the support I have received from those who have seen my work, social media has been a great part of said support. I’m thankful.
