Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine X.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Jasmine. I am originally from Nashville, TN, now residing in Dallas, TX. I am a mother and serial creative in abstract art, custom crystal carriers, photography, and apparel. How did it begin? It was the year of 2013 when my father passed away from cancer. At the time, I was 23, in the military, stationed in Hawaii, with a 2-year-old, and so far away from family that this was the last thing I needed to hear. Nonetheless, receiving the news changed my life forever. Later that year I found it difficult to cope with such a great loss that I fell into a deep depression. One day while running errands, I came across an abstract mural located in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Little did I know that would be the day I embark on my art journey. Later than afternoon, I purchased art supplies from the local art shop and gave it a try. I painted a hibiscus and plumeria flower that I saw on the mural from earlier that day. I posted my art on social media… let’s just say an artist was born. Now fast forward eight years later, I have my very own online art and metaphysics store called eXccentricS.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to entrepreneurship has not been easy. I started my business while on active duty with the United States Navy. After honorably discharged in 2020, I am finally able to give my business 110%. Starting my business while on active duty taught me the following things: Be adaptable at all times, Persistence is key. Don’t be afraid to ask questions to those who you aspire to be. Do the things that you are afraid of, you never know unless you try. The biggest hurdle was learning a new market in different locations. The military is known for sending you where they need you. Each time, I had to relearn the area, rebuild entrepreneur networks, and locate new vendors/supplies. As much as I disliked the rapid change, let’s just change keeps me on my toes.

Our top seller and motto of “not settling” has set us apart from other businesses. Yes, you can purchase crystals and bookmarks everywhere. But at eXccentricS you can customize that very bookmark and crystal carriers with the greatest intentions.
What makes you happy?
What makes Jasmine happy? To be honest, the ability to create a product with full creative control, i.e. “Trust”. A client that trusts you means a lot to me. It means they trust my mind, trust my ideas, and my artistic execution.
