Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Ruvalcaba.
Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Life With Jess developed at the end of 2021. I started posting consistently on my social media. I remember the first brand that reached out to me was a toothpaste company. I was so excited; I was screaming and crying. After being consistent on social media and showcasing my personality, more and more brands would reach out. I get brands reaching out to me weekly now, and I couldn’t be more joyful. I am excited to see where this social media, fashion, and lifestyle journey takes me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been the toughest road. I don’t have many followers or big connections to get me to where I would love to be. This is why I am consistent, and I let time do its thing. I feel that as I am working hard, I have to be patient because I don’t know what person I meet, what experience I encounter, or where one of my posts could take me. I am blessed for all these opportunities I receive but sometimes going to college, creating content for companies, and trying to grow as an individual all get overwhelming. This is when I have to pray, breathe, focus, and keep pushing forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am Life with Jess, a Fashion + Lifestyle Content Creator/Influencer. I love to make others feel confident by spreading positivity and confidence through my photos and videos. I have worked with over 60+ brands on social media to create original content for gifted and paid collaborations, partnerships, and campaigns. I am a business-oriented individual with experience in social media, fashion, styling, marketing, and management. Something that I am proud of is working with brands such as Express, Giorgio Armani, Merit Beauty, ThredUp, Albertsons, Amazon, etc. I know my little 7-year-old self is screaming right now. I never thought companies would start reaching out to me because they love who I am and the content I create. It’s been such a blessing. What sets me apart from others is that I am a determined individual who has many goals, and I won’t stop here. I don’t ever get satisfied where I am at in life, I want to keep growing, and I know I will. I want to work with bigger brands/companies such as Ralph Lauren, Vogue, Chanel, and Gianni Bini, and I want my fashion creativity to expand. There is still a lot of room for me to grow and learn. I want to become a full-time influencer, a stylist, and a designer, and I want to travel the world to learn more about fashion. I want to do it all!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a child, I knew my creativity was going to take me places. Growing up, I wanted to become a professional dancer. I would always make up my own dance moves because I would feel free through this art of motion. As time passed, I started creating YouTube videos in my room; nobody would see those videos but me. I would create fashion videos, makeup videos, dancing videos, and videos for Justin Bieber. I always told myself and my friends that I wanted to become a Youtuber to become famous and meet Justin Bieber. When I was around 14 years old, I gained a little confidence and started uploading my videos on YouTube. I would make “Girl Code” videos and give fashion tips. I would also create comedy skits with kids I would babysit. However, my YouTube was getting hacked constantly, probably because my password was always “Jesslovespink” or “Jess123JustinBieber” so I had stopped uploading on YouTube. As I started College, I started gaining so much confidence. This is where my love for fashion flourished. I started researching brands, drawing my own fashion pieces, styling my friends, creating YouTube videos, and posting on social media constantly. I knew fashion was a part of my life because I would dress up to school very girly; my style was different from every other high school student. I would wear bows, skirts, and dresses. I still wear bows to this day. My style is girly, sophisticated, and Chic with a dash of romanticism. I am glad I grew in confidence and flourished in fashion. Although there is still a lot of room to grow as a Fashionista, I wouldn’t change it for anything.
