Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Welch.
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After graduating from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Fashion Design, I dove headfirst into the fashion industry and never looked back. My career has taken me across the globe, from designing in Australia to working with multiple fashion brands here in the U.S. Along the way, I gained invaluable experience, developed my eye for detail, and deepened my love for vintage, travel, and nature-inspired design.
Coast to Country began as a passion project, a way for me to combine all the things I love: fashion, storytelling, creativity, and a slower, more intentional lifestyle. I wanted a space that reflected both coastal freedom and country charm. What started with graphic tees and curated vintage finds has grown into a creative outlet that includes home goods, natural products, and blog content for fellow wanderers, DIYers, and makers.
This journey has been shaped by years in the industry, a few leaps of faith, and a deep desire to create something meaningful and personal. Coast to Country isn’t just a brand, it’s my way of inviting others to celebrate beauty in the everyday and live a life full of adventure, creativity, and heart.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not exactly! Like most creative journeys, mine has had its fair share of twists and turns. After having my son, I shifted into contract work as a fashion designer to allow more flexibility for my family. These days, I also homeschool him, so it’s definitely a balancing act. Between running a household, teaching, and trying to grow a brand, things don’t always move as fast as I’d like.
There are times I wish I had more hours in the day, but I’ve learned to give myself grace. Building Coast to Country slowly has allowed me to stay true to my vision and prioritize what matters most. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply rewarding, and I know that each step forward, no matter how small, is part of something meaningful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Coast to Country, I design graphic tees, curate & upcycle vintage and western clothing, and create handmade goods that reflect a life rooted in creativity, travel, and authenticity. My background in fashion design gives everything I need to create a strong foundation, whether it’s a thoughtfully designed t-shirt, a handpicked vintage piece, or a crafted home good with a story to tell.
I’m most proud of the way Coast to Country feels personal. It’s not just a brand, it’s a reflection of the life I’m building. I offer more than just products: I share blog posts, free printables, natural recipes, and DIY ideas for others looking to live creatively and intentionally. I think what sets me apart is that blend of design experience and heart, every piece I offer is made or chosen with a purpose.
Coast to Country exists at the intersection of fashion, nature, and everyday inspiration. I’m here for the dreamers, the makers, and the ones who believe in finding magic in the little things.
How do you think about luck?
I believe in staying positive and focusing on what I can do, no matter the circumstances. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a strong support system, my family has always encouraged me to pursue my passions and keep going, even when things get hard. That kind of support feels like the best kind of luck.
Of course, there have been challenges, but I try to see them as part of the journey rather than setbacks. I’m a big believer that good things come with time, faith, and persistence. Whether it’s luck, timing, or just showing up every day, I’m grateful for where this path has led me—and for the people cheering me on along the way.
