Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessika Davila
Hi Jessika, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I think it all goes back to that old Casper cartoon, when he makes friends with a fox named Ferdie. Whom later in the story is shot and killed, leading to the break of poor little Casper’s heart.💔 We thought it was all over!!! (How ironic for a ghost but we love his child naiveté) Through Casper’s grieving tears, ghost Ferdie leaps from their physical body and they stay besties in the afterlife🥹🖤 I believe that simple little moment is what sparked my deep love and connection with critters in this life and the next. Fast forward to adult me, where each facet of my being was shifting drastically with a new baby and a divorce on my heels. Stones and Bones was absolutely born through my grief and the navigation of those intense emotions. I just wanted to alchemize that heaviness into something loving and intentional ✨️ I’ve now had the honor of connecting and creating so many magickal sacred pieces for going on 6 wonderful years!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As an artist or small business, we are bound to climb a mountain or three in the process of growing and learning along the way. Things like finding our niche audience, the high demands and requirement of social media, applying for events, slow seasons, booth energy, and set up. This list goes on varying from person to person and could continue to shift as we change our practices and presentation. I do however believe, that at our core, the whats and whys of what we do will remain a constant ✨️🖤
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Im a magick maker and weaver of loving things🖤 Through one of a kind intentional crafting, I make magickal items for your sacred spaces, altars, and homes✨️🌿🦴🪻
Creating with & honoring our sweet animals, the earth, and the moon🐺🌍🌕 Giving a “second cycle” to our critter friends as they share their medicine & energies with us✨I think of Stones and Bones as a rescue/foster/adopt situation. I find their precious remains & connect with their sweet tethered energies in such a singularly special way it’s almost too difficult to place in words. It feels intuitive and raw in all the best ways. From there, I love on, adore, and breathe new life into our passed on friends. Helping those who resonate, find a way to stay connected and lovingly honor our sweet critters in their new forever homes. No matter how small the detail or how big the emotions, we find ways to manifest and channel the needed medicines & magick. All of my babies are ethically sourced and handled with big love🖤
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I believe, above everything else I’ve experienced on this path, the most important supporting element has been doing only what I love. What I feel flows with passion, magick, and aligns with my heart. Staying true to that has likely been how I’ve been able to grow my craft, business, and progress my personal healing journey.
