Hi Jocelyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Jocelyn Lacy and I am the CEO of Fortunewallet. At Fortunewallet, we provide a variety of financial services such as small business consulting, credit repair, and email automations. A little background about myself, I have 10 years of experience in the banking industry. My very first job at a bank was at the age of 19 years old. I started as a teller and worked my way up. My former position was as a business banker. I helped both consumer and small business customers with their financial priorities such as new accounts, account maintenance, credit, savings, etc.
I’ve always been very passionate about credit because I once had bad credit and I repaired it myself. I told myself that I would learn all about credit, how it works, and never be limited again.
After giving birth to my daughter in 2019, right before the pandemic. My husband and I felt it would be best for me to stay home and not return to my job as a business banker.
A few months after I resigned, my sister approached me and suggested that I not let my expertise go to waste and to go into business for myself.
Although, I was grateful to stay home with my daughter. Apart of me missed being able to help customers with their finances every day. It was a part of who I was and had been for 10 years of my life.
Long story short, I decided to launch my own company providing financial services to assist individuals and small business owners.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business is not all glitz and glam. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I focus on being consistent with marketing and networking. But I have faced obstacles along the way such as targeting my niche audience and social media presence. Fortunewallet is currently on Instagram and Facebook. But I’d like to make a Tik Tok and leverage all social platforms.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, we plan to hire staff and expand our company. We also plan to add additional financial services.
