Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Jones
Hi Joy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for pastries started when I was a young girl making cakes with my grandmother. I was always in the kitchen with her baking something or asking her what are we baking today? As I got older I wanted to continue my passion so I enrolled into Le Cordon Bleu for the Patisserie and Baking Program back in 2011. Graduate as a Pastry Chef October 2012. After I graduated, I started my home bakery business making cakes. My heart would be so happy just watching others enjoy what I made for them. People enjoyed my cakes so much that I was beyond grateful more and more orders were coming in. Then I started putting a menu together offering other items like mini cakes, cookies, cake jars & brownies. As soon as I would put the word out, products were sold out. Now, I am setting up my products at pop up shops and vendor events. I offer a variety of cookies and cake jars. I still expect cake orders and book up fairly quickly every month. Making sweets has just always been my passion and once you try one of my items you will know that my love is put into everything I make. I also have a online storefront that I do offer shipping within the US, so you can purchase my products online.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just with any business, it definitely has not been a smooth road. There have been many times I want to give up on my dream. Not every order goes the way I want and not every cake turns out perfect. I have learned through trial and error. There are times that I held on with just a mustard seed of faith. I just can’t give up on my passion, I am a believer that if God puts it in your heart he will make the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in custom cake orders. I love custom heart cakes, this is my favorite to make. I am known for my cookies and cake jars and my brownies, especially my brookies. I would have to say the my cookies would be what sets me apart from others and what I am the most proud of. Only because I have been told so many times that my cookies are better then Cookie Crumbl and that has been the best compliment that will always stick to me.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most is Providing top notch service and quality products. When you provide top notch service and quality products your clients greatly appreciate you. When your clientele is happy, they come back for more.
