Rising Stars: Meet Kendrick Jones of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendrick Jones

Hi Kendrick, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been into fashion growing up. I’ve always received compliments on the way I put outfits together. I came up with the name Elever due to some real life issues and situations I was going through at the moment. I lost a great jobs but I ended up getting a better job. I moved to Dallas in 2016 from Mobile,al. I started my brand in early 2022. A good close friend name Ant (from my hometown) gave me his vendor information. I worked with that vendor for a lil while until I started trying other vendors that I came across on Instagram. Since I moved to Dallas my life has been elevating. Elever is a French name that means “elevate.” I stayed consistent with new clothing drops. It’s definitely a process and time consuming when it comes to having a brand. I kept pushing, stayed consistent, and networked, networking is the key. A long time friend of mine name Mikey Nikey(from my hometown) presented one of my bucket hats to one of his friends name Tommy 2 that’s from Texas. He called me one day and said he needed some merch I meet up with Tommy we conversed for a couple hours about the brand, and the vision and how he can see my brand taking off in the future. He introduced me to some great people to name a few Dj Bubba, Big X tha Plug, Rosama, and Bash for the world, and so many more good people. They all have played a part in helping me get to where I am at today by wearing the brand to shows and on Tours all around the world. You can also shop the brand at ESL Emporium Studio Lounge 2138 North Collins st Arlington, Texas.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve came across a lot of obstacles down the road. I’ve missed out on events due to delays with shipping and from the manufacturer and trying to get people to shop on your website. It’s not easy as it looks, It’s more than just designing clothes it’s being an entrepreneur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a full time UPS driver I work Monday-Friday, 8-12 hours days. I get off work and dedicate my time to my brand after I get off work I try to put some time into my brand by taking to my vendor,
Taking orders, and updating my website. I feel like I give ups 8-12’hrs a day to my job so I have give my brand some time after work to balance it all out.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was an active kid growing up. I was heavily into sports. I played football, basketball, and baseball ass a kid. Once I got older I focused more on basketball. I was always laid back, quiet, and always had an eye for Fashion.
