Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Goodwin.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Walls Down Productions has made significant strides since its inception, proving itself to be a dynamic and impactful nonprofit organization. In 2020, Walls Down Productions became a federally recognized nonprofit organization, with a mission centered around arts education and appreciation. The organization aims to enrich the community through creative and educational endeavors. In 2021, Walls Down Productions proudly produced and opened the play Yeshua, directed by the talented Kimberly Goodwin. This production marked a significant milestone for the organization, showcasing its commitment to the arts and providing a platform for meaningful storytelling.
Starting in 2022, Walls Down Productions began an annual tradition of spreading holiday cheer by giving Christmas gifts to children throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. This initiative underscores the organization’s dedication to bringing joy and support to local families. In the summer of 2023, Walls Down Productions orchestrated its first SpArts (sports & arts) event for youth. This innovative program offered young participants the opportunity to explore how the skills, characteristics, training, and benefits of sports and arts contribute to becoming well-rounded individuals in society.
Walls Down Productions has recently embraced the power of collaboration and partnership to sustain its mission and deliver creative community services.
In partnership with Tk Capture Memories (owner Karsha Ross), Walls Down Productions hosted its first annual Community Baby Shower event in 2025. This event provided free baby essentials to parents of newborns to 1-year-olds, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to supporting families in need.
Walls Down Productions has also partnered with Grace Relax and Retreat Rental property (proprietor William Goodwin) a rural indoor/outdoor space, to facilitate various events. This partnership allows the organization to host workshops, company and nonprofit team/staff meetings, and brainstorming activities in a serene environment.
In addition to event hosting, Walls Down Productions offers podcast space and opportunities, further expanding its reach and influence within the community.
Walls Down Productions continues to innovate and expand its offerings, always seeking new ways to uplift and engage the community. Its dedication to arts education, community service, and collaborative partnerships sets the stage for a bright future filled with impactful initiatives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No. it has definitely not been a smooth road—not by a long shot! But through it all it has been an honor and a privilege to be blessed with a chance to make a difference. However, the challenge to secure funding, has proven to be the most impactful. Raising the capital needed to operate and facilitate the programs and events that we know would be beneficial to our community is a major hurdle. Another obstacle is, establishing a strong brand and public presence, that goes hand in hand with the financial aspect of an organization, especially for a non-profit organization (NPO). We are (hyper) aware of how significant it is to attract donors, volunteers, and partners. That involves strategic marketing and communication efforts to convey the non-profit’s mission and impact effectively.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My “daytime” job is Office Manager and Permit Technician for Accent Graphics, Inc. (Grand Prairie, Texas), where I manage logistics, invoicing, daily operations, and sign permit procurement from cities throughout the state of Texas with precision and professionalism. I have been praised by business partners/collaborators and vendors for my unique understanding of city codes, compliance, and regulatory changes across a diverse system of Texas cities, ensuring that our clients receive accurate permitting and a smooth approval process.
I have also dedicated over 40 years of her life to church ministry, with a significant portion of that time spent at Grace Deliverance Bible Church under the leadership of Pastor W.H. Goodwin Jr. I am an active Praise and Worship Team Member, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and most recently Associate Minister. This journey has been marked by a commitment to faith, community service, and personal growth. In addition to her work within the church, through my roles in both church ministry and as the Founder/Executive Director of Walls Down Productions, I believe that I have exemplified a life dedicated to service, compassion, and positive change. My hope is to continue to inspire those around me, creating ripples of hope and progress in the communities that I serve.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
They would probably be surprised that I am not nearly as comfortable speaking on stages as I appear to be, and that most every time I am extremely nervous and hiding my immense stage fright.
