Today we’d like to introduce you to LaQuincy Williams.
Hi LaQuincy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ll never forget the moment, a little over 7 years ago, I was sitting on a patio having lunch when a lifted truck rolled into the parking lot. The sound, the stance, the presence instantly caught my attention. From that moment on, I was hooked.
I started doing my research, trying to learn everything I could about lifted trucks. Back then, about eight years ago there really wasn’t much information out there. You might find a few random sources online, but nothing educational or beginner-friendly. And what I quickly realized was that the truck community could be pretty toxic at times, especially toward people who were new, like myself.
No one in my family had ever owned a truck, so I didn’t have anyone to show me the ropes. I figured, there have to be others like myself who love trucks but didn’t have anyone to teach them about trucks. That’s what inspired me to start documenting my own journey of building my first truck, learning through trial and error, and sharing what I found along the way.
How I got to where I am today really comes down to three things I live by:
1. God first — He’s my source, and he provides me with the resources I need
2. Always be kind — relationships are everything, no matter what industry you’re in.
3. Work hard — because nothing worth having comes easy.
I’ve been uploading a video, sometimes multiple, to YouTube every week for about eight years now, and I’ve created over 700 videos. It didn’t happen overnight! It took time, consistency, and a lot of hard work, but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.
For me, KickinItWithQ isn’t just about trucks. It’s about building a positive community, staying true to who you are, helping others learn, and showing that with faith, kindness, and hard work you can build something bigger than yourself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any story bumps and failures are a part of the process.. Building a truck isn’t cheap, so I had to learn patience saving up, finding extra income, and figuring out how to make each part of the build happen one step at a time. Nothing about it came easy.
And being on YouTube for eight years now, there are times when creativity runs dry and motivation fades. Some days, you’ve got to show up even when you don’t feel like it. You’ve got to find something to film when every idea feels used up. But that’s all part of the process. Pushing through, overcoming obstacles, and realizing you’re capable of more than you thought.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My content may not be the most outrageous, and my trucks definitely aren’t the most expensive ones you’ll see on the road and that’s exactly the point. I want people who are just starting out to know that you don’t need the priciest wheels or the most expensive parts to build a great-looking truck.
To me, a truck is a blank canvas. A chance for each person to create their own masterpiece. There’s no single “right” way to build one, just like there’s no single way to paint a picture. That’s the beauty of it.
People often say they connect with KickinItWithQ because I’m relatable, fun, and down to earth and honestly, that means everything to me. I’m just a everyday person who decided to pick up a camera and hit record. If I can do it, so can you.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always had a fun, upbeat, and bubbly personality. I genuinely love connecting with people and having real conversations. Sports have always been a huge part of my life, especially football. Through a lot of hard work and dedication, I was blessed to earn a full athletic scholarship to play college football. That experience taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Lessons that still shape who I am today. Working out and staying active remain a big part of my life; it’s not just about fitness, it’s about keeping that competitive drive and positive mindset alive.
