Today we’d like to introduce you to Livia Forlemu.
Hi Livia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Liv Connect started from a very real season of my life where I was feeling a little lost, I had just got laidoff with a lot of time on my hands. I had always been the friend in my friend group that liked to host and would throw small gatherings. My first unofficial event was a valentines dinner that I curated in Feb 2025. It made me realize I have a gift of connection and bringing people together (blame my HR background) and I felt many women around me were looking for genuine community, not just surface level networking or social media connections. So from there I began hosting small, intimate gatherings for women to come together in real life. No pressure, no pretenses. Just space to talk, reflect, laugh, and feel seen. What started as casual meetups with my girlfriends quickly turned into something more intentional. Women kept coming back, bringing friends, and asking when the next event would be.
From there, Liv Connect naturally evolved into a community based social club rooted in connection and shared experiences. Each event is thoughtfully curated, whether it’s a dinner, wellness experience, or gathering with the goal of helping women build meaningful relationships with themselves and with each other.
Today, Liv Connect is growing into a recognizable community in Dallas, and I’m proud that it still feels intimate and intentional at its core. I will continue to carry my my favorite motto “we are better together.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly it hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been working through imposter syndrome, especially in the early stages of building Liv Connect. I often questioned whether I was “ready” or qualified enough to put myself out there as a founder. Another ongoing challenge has been getting comfortable showing up on social media. I’m naturally a more private person, so learning to share my journey publicly, promote events, and be the face of the brand pushed me outside my comfort zone. Over time, I’ve learned that visibility is part of leadership, and leaning into that discomfort has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have a background in IT recruiting and program management, where I specialize in building scalable hiring processes, managing cross-functional initiatives, and aligning people strategies with business goals. I’ve worked closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to drive programs forward and ensure talent efforts support long-term growth.
I’m most proud of my ability to bridge structure with human connection translating complex technical or program needs into clear, actionable plans while keeping people at the center of the work. What sets me apart is my blend of strategic thinking, strong execution, and relationship building. I’m known for being organized, dependable, and thoughtful in how I collaborate, whether I’m managing a program, supporting hiring initiatives, or building community driven experiences like Liv Connect.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a shy but very active girl. I was born in Cameroon and raised in Arizona as a first generation kid, which shaped how I saw the world early on. I was naturally reserved, but I always pushed myself to get involved as a way to step outside my comfort zone. I joined after school programs like volleyball, FBLA, and student council because being involved helped me find my voice and connect with others.
