Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucia Moreno.
Hi Lucia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I always say Bossladies Rocking was born from a mix of homesickness, ambition, and a deep desire not to do life and business alone.
I’m originally from Latin America and I’ve spent the last years in Texas navigating two worlds at the same time – the corporate side, working in marketing for healthcare, and the very human side, talking to women who were building businesses, raising families, healing, and trying to reinvent themselves in a new country. I kept hearing the same story over and over: “I’m doing all of this… but I feel alone.”
At some point, I realized I wasn’t just listening to their story – I was listening to mine too.
Bossladies Rocking started very organically. It wasn’t a “business plan” on day one; it was more like a calling. I began by creating content and small meetups where Latina and Hispanic women could talk about money, wellness, creativity, and business without feeling judged or “too much.” We weren’t just networking; we were exhaling. From there came intimate events like “Vinos, colores y taconeo,” holistic brunches, photowalks to create intentional content, and eventually the bigger vision: turning this into a true platform and ecosystem.
As the community grew, Bossladies Rocking evolved into a multichannel space: in–person experiences, social media, and Hey Bosslady, our magazine that celebrates Latina stories with an editorial, nostalgic, 90s–magazine vibe but with very current conversations — mental health, money, identity, immigration, abundance. I wanted women to see themselves not only as “hardworking” but as worthy of luxury, beauty, and rest too.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
One of my biggest lessons has been learning to find the middle point between a business with soul and a business that actually makes money. I don’t want a brand that is all heart but can’t sustain itself, and I also don’t want something that only chases numbers and forgets people. For me, both things have to be in balance: impact and income, purpose and profitability. Learning to hold that tension and make decisions from that place has been challenging.
I’ve also had to make peace with the word “no.” In the beginning, every “no” from a venue, a sponsor, a client or even from people I admired felt very personal. Over time, I’ve understood that “no” is just part of the path, and that the faster some doors close, the faster you walk toward the ones that are truly yours. There is always someone out there who needs exactly what you do and what you’re capable of creating.
Another reality is that envy exists. When you are visible, when you create your own spaces, not everyone will clap. But just like envy is real, gratitude is real too, and it vibrates at a much higher frequency. Choosing to stay in that higher vibration — to keep my heart open, to stay grateful, to keep showing up even when it’s hard — is a constant inner challenge. It’s not always pretty or easy, but it’s what allows me to keep building Bossladies Rocking with integrity, instead of from fear.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my day–to–day life, I wear a few different hats that all connect to the same core: storytelling with purpose.
Professionally, I work as a Marketing Director in the healthcare field, and that role teaches me every single day how to optimize my actions, my strategy, and my leadership with my team. I’m constantly learning about data, funnels, patient journeys… but I’m also learning a lot about myself — how to balance, how to communicate better, and how to set and honor my own boundaries. For me, good marketing isn’t just about reach; it’s about responsibility.
With Bossladies Rocking and Hey Bosslady Magazine, I specialize in creating experiences and content for Latina and Hispanic women that make them feel seen, important, and celebrated. I love helping people discover the multiple gifts and talents behind the brands I work with — whether it’s a small business owner, a wellness expert, or a medical group serving the community. When someone tells me, “I finally feel like my work and my story matter,” that’s when I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.
What I’m most proud of is the way we are highlighting the impact of the Latinx community in the U.S., not just as “hard workers,” but as creators, leaders, innovators, and culture–shapers. And within that, the impact of women is my biggest driving force. I fight every day to open more and more spaces where women can feel seen, celebrated, and supported — on stage, in print, online, and in the quiet rooms where ideas are born.
What sets me apart, I think, is this blend of strategy and soul. I understand KPIs, campaigns, and business growth, but I refuse to disconnect that from humanity. I’m interested in how a brand makes people feel, how a campaign can open a door, how an event can become a memory that shifts someone’s belief about what is possible for them. That mix — of heart, structure, and a deep love for my community — is at the center of everything I do.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are many ways people can work with me and support what I’m building with Bossladies Rocking and Hey Bosslady, but I’ll be very honest: the part that usually costs the most is funding the experiences I envision.
I have the vision, the talent, the community, and an incredible network of vendors and collaborators. What often limits the scale of what we can do is not creativity – it’s resources. That’s why sponsorships and aligned partners are crucial. Brands and organizations that believe in our values — community, wellness, mental health, Latinx representation, women’s empowerment — can support us by sponsoring our events, our gala, our workshops, and even content inside Hey Bosslady Magazine. When a sponsor comes in, they’re not just putting their logo on a banner; they’re helping us open doors, tell stories, and create spaces that wouldn’t exist otherwise.
People can collaborate with us as strategic partners, speakers, venues, vendors, or media allies. That can look like co–creating an event, hosting a photoshoot or workshop, sponsoring an award at the gala, supporting our work with mental health foundations, or amplifying our stories through press and digital platforms. And on an individual level, support can be as simple as attending events, sharing our content, nominating women for recognition, or introducing us to potential sponsors.
I always say: if you share our values, there is a way for us to grow together.
