Today we’d like to introduce you to Margo Washington.
Hi Margo , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello my name is Margo Washington I am an 30 year old massage therapist ,writer,content creator.. I take care of an 70 year year old mother . What inspired me to want to write or Become a massage therapist was for my mom she has polio she is bed bounded . I also want an organization for young girls and boys that’s been molested raped or abused just like me. Nobody but God has pulled me out of these hard times people left me didn’t believe me in me family included I had one person believing in me and that was my cousin Tenesha. I write because I feel my writings could help others that’s been through the same . I use to be homeless going house to house couch to couch . And it’s tough knowing people don’t want you there . The content I record is basically of my mom to help others who have to stay home full time with a parent or child it’s not easy but long as I have strength in my body my mom will be with me. I graduated massage school in 2024 had the best teacher shoutout to Mr Allen who believed in us. Same year I graduated my dad died. That year took a tole on me but here I am 2026 I’m stronger than ever. Don’t let your past control your future. I knew since a kid I was born to stand out. It doesn’t stop here . A lot of trauam events that took place really inspired to just want better . To not dwell on from where I come from but to make it out and be better. To break those generational curses and to be live for me not others
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. People not believing in you sometimes play a part. Along the way I met a lot of people that said they were here but when things got hard they left . Having a disabled mom with no help takes a lot especially when they are bed bounded . Being a writer sometimes you get writers block so it be difficult. Being a massage therapist omg you meet some crazy people along the way. And being a content creator sometimes you just don’t feel like recording just have to get up and do it .
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently working for my mom as and home healthcare aid but besides that . I’ve did photoshoots ,movie extras (I have two movies on Tubi). I’m also a massage therapist. That’s kinda cool because you never know who you meet . A lot of my clients come to me shoulders extra tight.whole back tense and when I’m done there yawning lol saying thank you. As for writing , what made me get into poetry after I lost my dad my mind was so confused . It was everywhere . I didn’t know if I was going to ever get over the fact I lost the first man that loved me . So I started to go sit by the water or get in the water . I’ve been writing since 16 but it gave me the spark back to start back because I thought one day I could help someone else get through like I did I feel like I am most knowing for helping others . Even when I’m going through battles myself. My hands are healing hands . I feel like my purpose is to help others remember who they are a lot of my friends have said just being in my presence make them better. What sets me apart from others ? I feel that I try to understand a person before just leaving them. I am for strong minded .a lot of things I feel like I went through a lot of people could not get through. Or would of handled it differently. I’m outspoken,I use to hide but my voice need to be heard.
What does success mean to you?
How I define success. Is waking up having everything you always dreamed of. The career, the house , the family . Being successful to mean means getting out of struggling mode and getting into just living. Of course the problems are going to come . But when you having wisdom, discernment, peace and love most of all God . Nothing or nobody can get in the way of your success. Like for example I plan to gave generational wealth for my my future kids or even my neice and God daughters . I want land I want for them to not have to worry in this world .
