Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Wyatt
Hi Mariah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got my start doing makeup back in 2010. I was on summer vacation from college and i was watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, not sure why but it caught my attention. From there I began playing around with makeup. I practiced on other people such as family and friends but I really didn’t take it seriously. It wasn’t until 2020 when I saw that a well known makeup artist institute from Las Vegas was opening a location right here in the DFW. Fall 2021 i attended LMakeup institute where I learned everything from bridal, runway, airbrush, body paint, & etc. i graduated in the summer of 2022. Even though i had graduated i still didn’t really know what I wanted to do with makeup, so i was all over the place i worked so many different jobs and worked on various bridal teams. I was facing burnout, so I started listening to different makeup podcasts and attending online seminars where I learned that I needed to find my lane in this industry and for me bridal was where I wanted to be. That brings where I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. I made so many mistakes from the business side of things and also bridal hairstyling in the beginning. I thought that being booked and busy was the goal but it only lead me to becoming over booked and stressed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a bridal artist and I love it. I specialize in soft glam. I am most proud of the relationships that I have built and how happy my clients are once they see the end result. Some would say it’s my charisma and charm.
