Rising Stars: Meet Mario Herrera

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Mario Herrera again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Mario, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
It’s an honor to be connecting with VoyageDallas again! When I was first interviewed, Spiderweb Media was just starting to take shape. Back then, we focused primarily on web design and content creation. Today, our journey has evolved into something much bigger.

At Spiderweb Media, we’ve grown into a full-service marketing agency that helps businesses of all sizes build their online presence and connect with their ideal audience. Our services now include SEO, social media management, content creation, branding, and even handling print and promotional products. We’ve also formed partnerships to provide clients with an “all-in-one” marketing solution, making it easier for them to manage all their marketing needs in one place.

One of the things that sets us apart is our genuine care for our clients’ success. We don’t just treat marketing as a service — we see ourselves as partners in helping businesses grow. Whether it’s a local business needing a better online presence or a larger brand looking for strategic campaigns, we tailor our approach to fit their specific needs.

Since our last interview, one of the highlights of my journey has been expanding my team. I’ve brought on people who share the same passion for creativity and community, which has helped Spiderweb Media better serve our clients. We’ve also been fortunate to work on some impactful projects, from local sponsorships to community initiatives like supporting nonprofit events in Fort Worth.

Another core part of our growth has been embracing the power of storytelling. People connect with stories — not just ads or campaigns. I’ve learned that by telling the stories behind businesses, their products, and their people, we create lasting connections that drive real results.

Our mission is simple: We want businesses to feel seen and feel heard in the crowded digital space. It’s not just about getting more clicks or followers — it’s about making sure our clients are connecting with the right audience in a meaningful way.

Lastly, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Staying ahead in the ever-changing world of marketing requires continuous learning and adapting. But those challenges have only fueled my drive to push boundaries, be creative, and deliver real value to our clients.

At Spiderweb Media, we say, “Connections matter.” Whether it’s connecting a brand to their audience or connecting with our community — that’s what motivates us every day.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Since our last conversation, things have been moving fast — and I couldn’t be more excited about the direction Spiderweb Media is heading!

One of the biggest highlights has been seeing the tangible impact of our work on local businesses. We’ve expanded our services to truly become a one-stop shop for marketing — from website creation and SEO to managing social media, running ad campaigns, and even offering print and promotional products. We want to make marketing simple and effective for businesses, and it’s been rewarding to see clients thrive with our help.

What I’m most excited about right now is Spiderweb Media’s growth. We’ve been building new partnerships that allow us to offer even more value to our clients. For example, we now have a direct connection with printing companies and promotional product providers, which means we can offer branded materials like flyers, business cards, and custom merch — all under one roof. The goal is to streamline everything a business needs for marketing, so they aren’t jumping from vendor to vendor.

Of course, with growth comes challenges. The digital marketing world changes constantly — what worked six months ago might not work today. But that’s what makes it exciting! It keeps me on my toes and pushes me to stay creative and adaptable. I’ve learned to see challenges as opportunities to innovate, whether it’s navigating changes in SEO algorithms or figuring out how to stand out in a crowded social media space.

One fun thing I’ve recently added to my routine is attending more local events and networking opportunities. Building relationships in-person has been a game-changer. It’s easy to get caught up in the digital world, but there’s nothing like shaking someone’s hand, hearing their story, and figuring out how we can help each other grow.

Looking ahead, I’m excited about launching new creative campaigns and continuing to tell stories that connect people. We’re even working on a few internal projects that I can’t wait to share — including a new series of educational content to help businesses better understand the power of digital marketing.

It’s been an incredible journey so far, and honestly, I feel like we’re just getting started. Spiderweb Media is evolving, and I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and helping businesses make meaningful connections that go beyond clicks and conversions.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
Honestly, my perfect day starts with movement — whether it’s a morning ride on my dirt bike or a quick workout to clear my head and get the ideas flowing. There’s something about getting outside and feeling that rush of energy that gets me in the right mindset for the day.

After that, my ideal day would be spent doing what I love most: working on new ways to market and grow brands. I’m a problem-solver by nature, so I love diving into new strategies, figuring out how to optimize campaigns, and coming up with creative ideas to help businesses stand out. The best days are the ones where I can get lost in brainstorming sessions, working through ideas for clients, and seeing a campaign come together that I know will make an impact.

I thrive on collaboration, so a perfect day would also include meeting with clients or my team. Those conversations — whether they’re brainstorming new content, analyzing results, or even troubleshooting challenges — keep me energized. There’s nothing better than when a conversation sparks a “lightbulb moment” and suddenly you have a fresh, innovative idea to run with.

But it’s not all about work. The perfect day would also include some time spent with friends or family — even if it’s something simple like grabbing a coffee or having a good conversation. And, of course, I’d end the day by reflecting on wins, setting new goals, and finding ways to do things even better tomorrow.

For me, the perfect day is all about progress. It’s about learning something new, making connections, and pushing myself (and my clients) to the next level. Marketing is always evolving, and that’s what makes it exciting — every day brings new challenges and new opportunities to create something meaningful.

And hey, if I can squeeze in another ride on my dirt bike to clear my mind after a long day? Even better.
