Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Mora.
Hi Mario, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Moras Iron works started out as more of a doubt than a dream. My father started out the business, and he knew just a bit of English, so getting out and about to conversate with customers was a bit difficult at first. My parents brought me young from Mexico. I was 3 years old so as I grew up, I learned the language, and every chance I had to help my father with the business I always made sure I did. I did everything I could to translate. Since I was still in school my father had to make the decision of learning more and perfecting his English in order to be able to follow through with the business. My father worked a long time for another business called western fabrication having his own business and teaching everything he knew was never really an option till western fabrication started having economical issues and eventually closed down. My father had to decide do I go and work for someone else or do I do this by myself. Thank God my father had my beautiful mom beside him no matter what to push him and help him gain confidence to believe in himself and be able to chase his dream and money the way he deserved. We all put blood, sweat, and tears into this business in order to believe in the dream we so much doubted. We have now been open for about 11 years, and we have accomplished a new home and lots of amazing customers who we are more than blessed to have given us a chance to welcome us into their home. We looked for opportunities, and when given to us we gave only our best quality in every project.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We struggled with advertising due to a language barrier of not knowing how to speak English very well. We never let that stop us.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are welders but not just any kind of welders we specifically make ornamental ironwork such as gates, staircases, balconies, and a lot of other custom projects. What we do is unique, and our skills will truly have you screaming wow when it’s all done.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
We are a Christian church family and love to read the bible. Not to push our religion on anyone but to learn to speak words of love, happiness, and peace to those around us.
