Rising Stars: Meet Mark Wheeler of Dallas-Ft. Worth Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Wheeler

Hi Mark, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Mark Wheeler’s boundless energy and remarkable knack for connecting with authors make him a trusted voice at Dynamic Voices by Mark. His honest and passionate delivery breathes life into books, infusing them with a heavy dose of personality that resonates with listeners.

Born in Shreveport, LA, and now a resident of Dallas-Fort Worth, Mark’s roots in theater run deep. He grew up assisting his mother with stage productions, taking on multiple roles and learning the craft from the ground up. This theatrical upbringing laid the foundation for his compelling narration skills.

By day, Mark is a dedicated Data Center Engineer, but his true creative outlet lies in narration. A self-proclaimed history buff and political junkie, Mark’s technical expertise and background as a personal trainer give him a unique edge. His diverse knowledge base allows him to narrate everything from self-help guides to urban fiction with equal proficiency, making each story relatable and believable.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge in the beginning of a voiceover career is finding time to work a regular job and devote time to recording, editing and continuing training in acting and vocal delivery. As time goes on the struggle to secure valuable work, as opposed to low budget or even no budget projects, becomes a prevalent issue. Also as a freelance artist, vetting clientele and securing payment can be obstacles to overcome.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Voiceover Artist, I paint landscapes with my voice bringing brands and stories to life. I specialize in Audiobooks, Narration and Commercials while I am also known for hosting live events. I’m most proud of my work with the National Library of Congress and the Talking Books program for the Blind and Print Disabled for whom I’ve narrated numerous books and magazines. My ability to perform a range of believable characters and really connect with the audience is what sets me apart.
