Today we’d like to introduce you to Moina Sajjad.

Hi Moina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My art journey started long ago during my high school years. At that time, I had the opportunity to learn fine arts under a renowned artist Syful Islam. After my move to Dallas Texas from Normal Illinois, in 2015, I was so inspired by the talent of local artist that I decided to change my passion into a profession. I participated in many local art fairs and shows, where I gained tremendous appreciation and support.

I have received many awards for my artwork. I am a nature-inspired mixed media artist who is not afraid to try different mediums in her artwork…

My paintings main focus revolves around the creator and his beautiful creations., I create art that speaks to its viewers both emotionally and spiritually.

The eagerness and thirst for learning more didn’t stop here, and my interest grew towards the Islamic art after I saw the beautiful and mesmerizing work of a world-renowned Master Calligrapher Haji Noor Deen, during his visit to Dallas, I decided to learn this beautiful art of Arabic Calligraphy in Chinese tradition and the journey of learning calligraphy started for me under my esteemed teacher Haji Noor in 2018 through deen arts foundation.

After four years of learning under my teacher with patience, perseverance, and dedication, I am now a certified teacher of Arabic calligraphy in Chinese tradition. I am truly humbled and honored to receive this certification, as I am the first student, outside of China, I am so very grateful to God almighty.

In my artwork I love to combine Arabic calligraphy in Chinese style, as it flows beautifully, making my paintings more meaningful… I feels that in our lives, we can be inspired by even the smallest things God has created around us, both emotionally and spiritually, I hope to create more beautiful paintings in future with a beautiful meaning and message as well. What is Moina’s Inspiration is, it is “where Inspiration meets Creativity “

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe nothing in life is easy, there are some challenges I faced during the pandemic. The cancellation of exhibition and lack of art sales, but as there some challenges there’s always a positive outcome. I was able to focus more on my calligraphy learning through online classes. This is a huge blessing for me during pandemic.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a mixed media artist and a calligrapher of Arabic script in Chinese tradition. My art consists of different mediums like resin, acrylics, modeling paste, xuan paper, and ink. I love using texture in my art pieces. I tend to combine modern art with a hint of my culture, Islamic Arts, and architecture. My Albawaba (the portal series) and An nisa (the woman) series are very special to me. Both series have inspirational messages of hope for its viewers.
