Hi Nel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is simply one of which I stick to the plan. I’m Nel Carter or how people have said it of late “WHAT THE NELLY” I would consider myself as a multifaceted woman of purpose with a huge heart and even bigger mindset. I am from Jackson, Mississippi. Currently residing in Dallas, tx. In Jackson I have helped to mold the hip hop community as it stands today with standout events such as the high esteemed Jackson Hip Hop Awards, Met Gala Ms, and a host of other private events and campaigns totaling over 1m in budget. Since arriving in Dallas or the new “black Hollywood “ as I like to call it I felt as though I fit right in. Quickly obtaining clients in not only my hair business but also in the entertainment business as well such as “Badd Dolly” of Zeus network for 2 seasons and more recently working with influencers/artists here in the Dallas area such as Jonathan Wright, Ambition Barbri
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest challenge in this season was choosing to get in my Shanel Bag and focus solely on things that were building my brand instead of others although I was truly grateful for the opportunity. Once the challenge was overcome the obstacles were none existent because nothing can get in my way now that I’m fully unchained
