Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Littrell.
Nicole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Texas but raised just south of Nashville, Tn in a small town called Lynville, where everybody knows everybody. I graduated with a class of less than 85 people, pretty much all of whom I knew my whole life. Growing up in such a small town undoubtedly shaped who I am today. From the earliest age, I always had the desire and want to help others. The desire to make others smile. I have been married for 15 years and have 2 beautiful children (19, 10), who make every day exciting and new. Being able to give them the best in life and teach them how to treat others is the most motivating thing this life has to offer. I hope they see my passion and love for helping others and see how important it is in life.
After graduating high school, I stayed in the area I grew up and entered the medical field. Having the desire to help others, the medical field seemed like a no-brainer. It was during this time that I developed a desire to teach and a passion for skincare which landed me in the esthetics field. I graduated from TCI in 2006 and immediately joined the staff as an esthetics teacher. This allowed me the opportunity to share my passion as well as educate others on the importance of skincare to our overall health.
While teaching at TCI, I was able to build a clientele and begin sharing my passion with a larger audience and branch out into new areas of the esthetics field. In 2010, I left TCI and began working on my own. It was at this time that I began to learn and pick up the art of lash extensions.
Lash extensions opened a whole new world of opportunity for me. I began doing lashes on artists, models, and singers, which carried over into skincare. My desire to teach and educate comes out with every client, so while doing lashes I cannot help but to teach and educate on the importance of healthy skin. And the importance of finding the right products.
Becoming a part of Team Sturm here in Dallas is one of my greatest accomplishments. It is the realization of everything I have worked towards. As an aesthetician, you are always looking for a brand you can work with that you believe in. Not just that they have good products, but that they care about the clients and the service they are providing. To put it simply, working for Dr. Barbara Sturm is my dream job. Each time you visit us here at Sturm Dallas, you will know that your experience and comfort is our top priority.
Even after over 15 years in the field of aesthetics, being a part of Team Sturm, and using her methods, has taught me so much. I am proud to say I am a part of Team Sturm and to be able to use her methods and amazing products to pamper our guests. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it had its ups and downs. With every high, a business can have it can come with just as many lows. I have had lots of sleepless nights and working 7 days a week to get where I am. Friendships lost and lack of due to always working. It is a very competitive field. As estheticians we have to perfect our niches and offer the best service, we can to the clients we serve. The work-life balance can be hard. Join accountability groups and be with like-minded technicians.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in facial treatments at Dr. Barbara Sturm in Highland Park. I am one of the Aestheticians. I am result-driven and do a mean massage. It all begins with a very thorough consultation. Goal is always to make the client have the best experience possible. The facial treatment is very detailed and I will educate them on a proper home care and see them for routine treatments.
