Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Meadows. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Nikki’s Popcorn Company was founded by Nicole Meadows and her husband, John. In business together since 2008, they have built an incredibly fun store in Historic Downtown Carrollton but still thought the Dallas area could handle a bigger and better concept. They always thought that their candy store (Blooms Candy & Soda Pop Shop) was missing something.
With a lack of space and a love of flavored popcorn, they decided to take the uniqueness of a gourmet popcorn store and their love for all things candy & soda pop and mash them together to create Nikki’s Popcorn Company. Fast forward to today and they have created a new store with over 2,900 square feet of sweets, salty treats, soda pop & an assortment of fun gifts!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are challenges every day. Throughout our journey we have learned to be open-minded, flexible and responsive to what our customers want. Our store and our business focus is completely different that it was on day one. We have responded to our customers’ needs and have change the products we carry, the flavors we make, and the options available to better suit those demands.
Obviously, during COVID we struggled, as everyone did. It drove us to focus on our online business much more and as a result we now continue to offer delivery, in-store pickup and drop shipping for our corporate customers.
We continue to listen and adjust because the needs of our customers continue to change as well.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I came from a corporate background, and I believe strongly that this allows me and our team to better anticipate the needs of our corporate customers.
Most of the corporate contacts that we deal with are supporting higher levels of management and rely on us to make them look good! We focus on delivering beyond expectations and communicating throughout the entire order cycle. Providing status along the way, confirming details, and following up with tracking/delivery information will only help our customers be better prepared on their end as the project is executed/delivered.
We can be infinitely creative! We enjoy coming up with creative, in-budget solutions that will exceed expectations, whether it be token thank-you gifts or full-service popcorn buffets.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We regularly service customers with orders of just a small bag of popcorn for a quick snack all the way up to orders of 15,000 bags and more drop shipped across the country!
Our team enjoys both the challenge of larger projects and the gratification of one-on-one customer service, no matter the size of the order.
