Today we’d like to introduce you to Noble Green.
Hi Noble, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always knew two things about myself. I liked encouraging people, and liked proving them wrong too. I discovered my talent for creative storytelling around 5 or 6 years old when I came up of the story of a kid who no matter how often people or life did him dirty, he always fought to help out “the little guy.” Not cause he had super powers or super strength, but because he had a good heart. And being the son of a kung-fu movie fan, I made him good at martial arts too. Little did I know, I had prophetically told my own story. Fast forward to my college years, in spite my aspirations of being in front of the camera, my talents behind the camera kept opening more doors for me to focus on, but I kept writing, creating, & storytelling. Sometimes I did it to encourage people I knew who needed it, and sometimes to just encourage myself when I felt I couldn’t say I needed it too. Then I discovered my stories weren’t my only form of self-encouragement. As my friends and I started experimenting with creative goals and outlets together I discovered parkour & street photography and began to use them to get out of my comfort zone, and push the boundaries of what people thought I was capable of. After sometime, I combined my talents with videography, parkour and storytelling to reformat that story from when I was 6 years old. I created a persona through social media content to tell the story of an unlikely hero who’s mission was no matter the odd to love and protect others and called him “The Urban Ninja.”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While they didn’t feel like it at the time, a lot of my obstacles we’re platform to leap to new heights from. Even my love for storytelling and film came from taking an acting class at my church not long after enduring a series of traumatic events in my life. The ability to act out and convey a character’s emotions gave me an outlet to express emotions I didn’t understand how to communicate to others. Soon writing became my therapist, allowing me to release emotion through characters without fear of judgement or feeling misunderstood. Still there was the problem of what to do with all these stories. How can I share them for others who may need to know they aren’t alone in their fight either? Around that time is when I was introduce to the world of content creation, and I found that without a movie set, or a film crew I could make short videos and photoshoots that share the hope I want to remind others is available, but in new and yes…edgy ways.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I am a content creator that specializes in street photography, parkour & shorts focusing on using what’s perceived as edgy, cool and sometimes risky to show other’s that what’s edgy is vulnerability, what’s cool is kindness, and to express both are very risky, but also genuine. And why pretend to be anything other then ourselves when a loving God made us, and sacrificed his only son to be close to us. Unless you can get someone to fight to keep you in their life that much I don’t think their opinion is worth worrying about.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Life isn’t easy, even for the people you look up to and think are perfect. Don’t be afraid to find someone trustworthy and be vulnerable with them. We’re all doing this thing called life for the first time, so there’s nothing wrong with asking for help to make it another day. And if it truly feels like you have no one, Jesus is in fact just a prayer away. Probably didn’t expect a dread-head who hangs from buildings in his spare time to be spiritually aware, but God found me when I felt most abandoned, so I’m not going to hog that hope all to myself. Forget what you’ve heard. God sees you, cares about you, and whatever you’re fighting in life right now he can rescue you from. And when he does, be sure to share your story with anyone who want to listen, and take on the motto to no matter what…”Love & Protect.”
