Today we’d like to introduce you to Norbelys Torres De Rengifo.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a teacher with more than 20 years of experience in education. I worked 10 years at a Spanish school in Keller and 3 years in Forth Worth ISD as a Spanish teacher.
I am from Venezuela and came to the United States seeking better opportunities for my children. From this experience, my Day Care Home was created with love, vocation, and the desire to provide a safe and educational environment for children.
Currently, I care for two children, and I am open to welcoming more. I believe in a participative education based on respect, love, and fun.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, it has been a very positive journey. Teaching and supporting my students have always been a strong and rewarding part of my work, and I feel confident in my experience and the quality of the program I offer. The main challenge has been expanding my reach and visibility through advertising, but this has motivated me to learn new ways to connect with more families and grow my program.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work focuses on teaching children with love, creativity, and clear guidance. I enjoy helping my students develop a love for the arts and express their feelings through crafts, drawing, and creative projects. I am known for being a caring, patient, and disciplined teacher who encourages children to be confident, independent, and involved in making their own choices, while learning that every decision has consequences and how to overcome challenges.
What I am most proud of is the strong connection I build with my students. Over the years, I have created a warm environment where children feel safe, valued, and loved, like part of a family. I take my role very seriously and work hard to share positive values and life lessons with each child. In many ways, I care for my students as if they were my own.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that may surprise people is that my biggest “secret” is how I connect with children from the very beginning. During my first evaluation, I focus on psychology and empathy to earn their trust. This strong connection helps children feel safe and confident, which allows me to support them and help them develop their abilities to their fullest potential
