Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Davis.
Hi Olivia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello!!!!!! My name is Olivia Davis and I’m a hairstylist located in Arlington, Tx. I’ve been licensed hairstylist since 2017.
I would consider myself a bit of a late bloomer! I didn’t decide on my career until my late 20s. I always had an artistic gift, but I also feared the struggle of a “Starving Artist”. Becoming a Hairstylist allowed me to share my gift while also supporting myself financially! In 2017 I started as an assistant to an amazing stylist and salon owner Billie J. Ross at Exclushear Salon. Through that program, I was able to catapult my career into the successful business I am today! Over the years I have refined my skills and have branded myself as a “Healthy Hair Care Stylist “and “Artistic Colorist”. Hair isn’t just a job to me; I love this industry and hope it always shows in my work!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When starting out in the industry I thought everyone needed to love me and my work. I would constantly critique myself to death. Over the years building confidence in my craft, I realized not everyone is going to love you…and that’s ok. Not everyone will love your work, and that’s ok. You eventually find your perfect clients!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Hairstylist who specializes in Healthy Hair Care and I’m also an Artistic Colorist. Healthy Hair is my foundation, why? Having healthy hair allows for best experience for my clients in and out of salon, it’s most appealing to the eye, and it provides the perfect canvas for coloring! To maintain healthy hair, I create a regimen tailored to each one of my clients made up of moisturizing and strengthening conditioners as well as regular haircuts/trims. Since most of my clients are either color-treated or have color goals, regularly treating the hair is even more critical to avoid damage. Creative color and blondes speak to my soul😊, they’re kind of my thing! Although I love to color hair, I don’t color “All” hair. The hair must be in its healthiest condition in order for me to perform any color service. This definitely sets me apart and doesn’t work for everyone’s “Color Goals” but I love the results I get from this method! My clients end up having a wonderful “Color Experience “and their hair looks amazing!!!
What does success mean to you?
Success in different areas of my life looks so different! In business success is returning clients, keeping my books full, referrals, clients loving my work, and how I educate them on their hair. My biggest success in business is being able to monetize my God-given gift and what I love!
