Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Hill
Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello, I MrPatrick The Man behind the House of Patrick, a custom clothing boutique here in downtown Dallas. Here at the House of Patrick We focus on the style of the gentlemen emphasize gentlemen. We do do custom for women, but I focuse It’s on demand of style. I was born and raised here in Dallas, Texas, South Dallas to be exact. And that always love style and putting on a suit Instead of just regular clothes. I graduated from Wade fashion college. here in Dallas and I studied under the umbrella of IMT DESIGNS with Andre Terry taught me all about patterns working with patterns, sewing grading, and how to make my vision become reality through sketches all the way through sewing the final product or garment. School taught me all about designing and the process or should I say the production of the dress or female fashion but I just wanted to know how to be a true professional tailor. So my quest begin to teach myself and to learn from other tailors around the city. It was hard at first to get someone to teach me how to do Tailor work. But I was persistent and alone with Andre and YouTube videos I began to learn more and more through trial and error as they say. LOL I would go to the thrift store in South Dallas on 2nd St. and buy suits jackets and take them apart and sold them back together. That’s how it all came together. I begin to understand how suits are structured they made inside and out. Here at the House Of Patrick everything is made by me even the accessories bracelets, rings, cuff links, tie bars, ties and bow ties to name a few. I just love being creative and making timeless pieces if that is clothing or jewelry. Everything is custom here at the House Of Patrick we have know off the rack garments maybe a few samples but if someone comes in and can wear the sample they can purchase it. LOL We do accept small minor outside alterations for men and women. I work outside of my loft apartment here in the West End part of Downtown Dallas Tx. Hopefully soon we will open up our boutique for men here in downtown Dallas. Creating a luxury grooming product for men of color is the ultimate goal. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Finding someone to teach me how to truly be an expert bespoke tailor. It was definitely a challenge no one wanted to teach me I even wanted to or inquire about working for free just to get in the door. But god showed me the way and blessed me to take things or should I say charge of my own destiny. Funding has also been a huge factor but we have been able to make it happen here at the House Of Patrick.

I’m definitely known for my style I have been this way since high school Proud that I have developed the skills of tailing men’s garments it’s not easy but I have learned to master the art of making men clothes. I consider myself a triple threat. Not only am I a what you would call a custom clothier in which one just takes measurements and then send them out. I design and style and make my on clothing. And lastly I can sew with the best of them I definitely can hold my own as a man who actually can sew.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I have been lucky enough that I found a mentor straight out of fashion school in Andre Terry of IMT DESIGN. He has and still continues to advise or should I say assist me when I need it .
