Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Blake.
Hi Richard, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been an Actor, Writer, and Producer in Los Angeles for the past 15 years. I have played both major and minor roles in over 31 TV shows and 11 feature films. I’ve optioned and sold two screenplays as well as producing two of my own feature films. Throughout my entertainment career, and due to my passion for people and fitness. I also worked and received my Master’s Certification as a professional trainer. In 2011, I founded the customized fitness company Richard Blake Personal Training (RBPT). I have worked with many athletes & celebrities on and off the screen and still continue to train to this day. In 2016, my wife, Amber, and I founded our own production company, “Amberock Productions.”
Our first feature film, “The Rocket,” was an inspirational family film based on a true story. It won first place at 16 film festivals around the world, including The Fort Worth film Showcase. (My wife Amber is originally from Fort Worth). The film eventually was purchased by Amazon, where it was able to begin turning a profit in it’s third quarter of release. Our second feature film, “Blame,” is due out early 2021. In 2020, due to the covid -19 pandemic and, more specifically, the poor government of California, my wife and I were forced to close the doors to both my gym and our production office in Burbank, California. After much prayer, deliberation and wise counsel, we made the decision to move both our companies to the Dallas Fort Worth area. We arrived on September 1st. Amberock Production’s office will now operate out of the Dallas area with hopes to shoot our third film in the Texas area in 2021, utilizing local talent, crew, and resources and create new opportunities in a new area. In addition, I have personally partnered my company, RBPT, with the elite private fitness gym Nexgen Colleyville, where I now operate as a Master Trainer in the Southlake, Colleyville, Grapevine area.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has been the most difficult transition of my life. We essentially lost our home, our gym, and had to shut down production aspirations for all of 2019. As for the long story of building the companies, it took vision to get there. I visualized what I wanted to do for a long time. I also always worked. I always had a job, no matter how demeaning or glamorous, I felt it was important to be earning income, supporting myself, and contributing to society in a positive way. Because of my outlook, working many jobs along the way gave me many different experiences and, ultimately, wisdom in many different situations.
Years ago, there were days when I was working on Days of Our lives at CBS. My call time was 1 pm. In the morning, I would get up and work at Home Depot from 5 am to 11 am, then I would go home, change, and drive to the studio to get to work my dream job of acting for the rest of the day. I never needed to do that, but it kept me hungry, it kept me thankful, and it kept my feet on the ground. There were many months during my busy acting career that I would be auditioning all the time but not working. Having another job in my back pocket kept my head above water and allowed me to enjoy the journey instead of being broke all the time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Film/TV Production and Fitness. Both my wife and I have owned, managed, and run professional fitness studios and gyms. In addition, I have been a professional actor and celebrity trainer for the past 15 years. My credits can all be found on IMDB. I’m also a writer, director, and producer, experiences which have helped me cultivate a high-end personal training business and connect with all type of clients. I’m excited to bring my energy and focus the Dallas Fort Worth area.
What does success mean to you?
I think for me, it’s action. Are you taking action? Do you have a vision and are you focusing on making that vision a reality. Throughout my life, I’ve met countless people who have dreams and aspirations, and they follow that up with, “But that will never happen.” What! I don’t accept that. Very rarely do things just “Happen”. Take action, set it into motion. Create opportunity for yourself to shine. It’s probably not going to all work out exactly how you envisioned, but you’ve got to take that first step.

Many thanks for the article on Richard Blake. It looks like he does a variety of things with dedication and passion. But I have always known that about him-you see, he’s my son. He is a great young man and very motivating and very caring.
