Hi Sarina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi I’m Sarina, owner of Luminous Rose Waxing. I first started waxing in 2020 at EWC, it was there I learned how to wax efficiently but after being there for almost a year I decided it was time to move on. Fast forward to 2023 where I got my dream job at The Bush Waxing Boutique, this is where I learned true empowerment & support from fellow waxers. It’s also where I was able to sharpen & build my skills especially in being able to give clients a luxury experience during their wax rather than just trying to get them out the door. Being able to see how truly beautiful it is to create a safe space where my clients can feel their best & know they’re comfortable was so life changing for me. After being there for a little over 2 years I decided it was finally time to go out in my own. This was one of the scariest, most exciting & bittersweet things I’ve had to do, I know now it was the right decision for me. My clients have been my rock throughout all of my journey! Now I’ve been open in my own space for a couple of months & I get to specialize in what I do best full body luxury waxing, as well as brow laminations & lash lifts. Luminous Rose Waxing is a luxury waxing studio, a place where you can come to unwind during your services while also feeling safe & comfortable!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely hasn’t been smooth! One of the biggest struggles was taking the risk to open. I was working somewhere I truly loved for a little over 2 years, I learned so much from there. My teammates & boss were so supportive, which is so hard to find and I knew going out on my own meant I would have to do a lot by myself. Building up my clientele again, doing all of the marketing/social media, etc. it’s a big thing to undertake but now that I’m here I’m so happy I took that leap!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in comfort luxury waxing, what that means is I always put my clients skin & experience first! I take extra steps to soothe & heal the skin for every service I provide.
I use high frequency after most of my waxing services which helps kill the bacteria in the skin, so you’re less likely to get ingrowns or breakouts! I’m always checking in with my clients during the service & of course I use very healing & gentle high quality products!
So whether you’re getting a wax, brow lami, or lash lift you’ll never walk out with irritated skin.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
There’s so many wonderful souls out there in the industry, it definitely can feel hard to find sometimes but I promise there’s someone out there who can teach you so much & genuinely support you!
Look for someone who you can tell cares & loves empowering other people. For me I can always feel the energy someone brings into the room, you want the energy to be positive, loving, & supportive all the way!
I know that’s not really a step by step but you’ll know when you’ve found the right mentor for you!
