Hi Sasha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. Drawing was always the thing I came back to, and over time I became obsessed with the idea of putting artwork on skin. What started as a passion turned into a career, and I’ve spent the last several years pushing myself to grow as an artist and tattooer.
I gravitated toward neo-traditional tattooing because I love the balance of bold design, strong imagery, and creativity it allows. Along the way, I’ve learned that tattooing is about much more than making cool artwork…It’s about building trust, creating something meaningful, and giving people a piece they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Today, I’m still doing what I’ve always loved: creating art, refining my craft, and constantly looking for ways to become a better tattoo artist.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road in the beginning. I spent years trying to get a tattoo apprenticeship at a time when the industry was still heavily male-dominated. I faced a lot of resistance, sexism, harassment, and people who simply didn’t take me seriously. There were plenty of moments when it would have been easier to give up, but I knew this was what I wanted to do.
After years of persistence, I finally landed my apprenticeship in 2015. Looking back, that was the hardest part of my journey. Once I got my foot in the door and had the opportunity to prove myself, things became much smoother. From there, it was about putting in the work, continuing to learn, and growing as an artist.
The challenges I faced early on taught me resilience and gave me a deep appreciation for the career I’ve built. They also shaped the way I treat others in this industry and the opportunities I try to create for the next generation of artists.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a tattoo artist specializing in neo-traditional tattooing. My work is known for bold designs, strong composition, vibrant color, and a balance between classic tattoo fundamentals and a more illustrative approach. I enjoy creating pieces that are both visually striking and built to stand the test of time.
What I’m most proud of is the career I’ve built through persistence and dedication to my craft. Tattooing isn’t something that was handed to me, I fought hard for the opportunity to be here, and I’ve spent years continuing to learn, improve, and evolve as an artist.
I think what sets me apart is the amount of care I put into every piece and every client experience. Technical skill is important, but I believe listening to people, understanding their vision, and creating artwork that feels personal is just as important. I want my clients to leave with a tattoo they’re proud to wear and an experience they’ll remember for the right reasons.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has contributed most to my success is persistence. Tattooing is a craft that requires constant growth, patience, and the willingness to keep pushing forward even when things are difficult. From fighting for my place in the industry early on to continuing to refine my skills years later, I’ve always been someone who keeps showing up and putting in the work.
I also believe humility is a huge part of being a successful artist. There is always something new to learn, whether it’s from other artists, clients, or the experiences that come with each tattoo. Staying open-minded and continuing to grow has allowed me to evolve throughout my career and maintain the passion that brought me here in the first place.
