Today we’d like to introduce you to Sneha Patel
Hi Sneha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started a page called The Spotlight Edit. It is an event and wedding content creation page. I have experience with event and wedding planning, and I always thrived on the content creation part of it. So I thought this would be a great business to start. I create memories for people and turn them into fun trendy videos that they can easily share on social media with their friends and family. I was a bride in 2022 and remember wishing I could just tell someone to turn all of my pictures and videos into fun content to easily share with friends and family. I received my professional photos and videos from my weddings months after the wedding celebration and spent much time looking through it. That is when I thought, this may be something people may want from their weddings or any other event like I wish I had.
I work for a software company full time and The Spotlight Edit is my creative outlet I like to work on in my free time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m just starting out on this journey of creating content and turning it into a public page, so I haven’t encountered too many obstacles or challenges yet. But the biggest challenge I had was getting started. I knew I wanted to channel my creative ideas into something bigger. Friends would tell me that I am good at taking pictures and turning it into a cute story feature and turning memories into a quick reel video to look back at again and again. I kept overthinking about whether or not to go for and start this page or not. I wondered if this would be something people would enjoy or not. In the end, I put all of those thoughts to the side and dived in. I was excited to try out this adventure because I knew I enjoyed it. Another little challenge has been figuring out how to turn my ideas into content. Since this is a new space, I am always jotting down ideas or saving music I think I could use in a future video. I know that the beginning of any new venture is slow, so I’m not expecting this to take off like a shot. I’m grateful for any content I can create for anyone.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am content creator for events and weddings. I turn memories into easy to share videos or content for family and friends. I specialize in mainly wedding content creation. I am known for creating fun and trendy reels on instagram. I am proud of being able to capture memories for people in aesthetically pleasing views and turn them into something people can look back at for days. Some people have a special eye for capturing memories and displaying them in a way that sets them apart from how a regular guest or person would, I believe I have that special talent. My last event, a wedding, I create many reels for the bride and groom. They loved the content I created for them and truly appreciated the fact that I leaned into the details they really wanted captured.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always joining organizations and getting people involved. I was part of boards that put on large events, bringing the community together. I was a pretty outgoing person growing up. I loved finding ways to connect people. I have always been found scrolling on my phone or taking a quick snap for the mems! I was part of the yearbook team in middle school and high school, I loved being behind scenes getting all the details and putting it all together into a book, highlighting the year.
