Hi Sweet Vows Photography, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We’re Ashley and Jessica, two childhood friends who drifted apart but found our way back to each other through social media.
Jessica had always loved the arts/photography and started her own photography business. Around that time, I was looking for a family photographer and came across Jessica’s post offering Christmas sessions. One photo session later, we were catching up like no time had passed and discovered we both shared a real passion for photography.
A few months later, Jessica was shooting a wedding and needed a second shooter. She had seen some of the photos I had taken for family and friends and knew I had an eye for photography, so she asked me to come along. We ended up having the best time and worked together so naturally that we thought, why not make this official?
And that’s how our wedding photography adventure began. Two friends doing what we love most: capturing genuine, joyful moments for others to look back on forever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any new adventure, it definitely hasn’t been all smooth sailing. When we first started, we were learning everything, from building a brand and balancing schedules, to finding our unique style and voice as a team.
There were late nights, equipment hiccups, and plenty of trial and error, but every challenge helped us grow. We learned how to communicate better, trust our instincts, and lean on each other’s strengths.
Looking back, those bumps in the road are what made us stronger and shaped the way we run our business today, with teamwork, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re wedding photographers who love capturing the real, in-between moments. The laughter, happy tears, and little glances that make each wedding day one of a kind. Our style is natural, timeless, and full of emotion. We want couples to look back at their photos years from now and feel exactly how they did in that moment.
What we’re most proud of is the connection we build with our couples. We make it a priority to help them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera so their personalities shine through in every photo.
What truly sets us apart is the experience we offer. Every couple who books with us receives a free engagement session, giving us the chance to get to know each other and show them how we work before the big day. It helps us build trust, makes the wedding day run smoother, and ensures the photos feel relaxed and authentic. We take pride in inviting our couples to share their vision with us so we can bring it to life whether it’s fun and quirky, bold and vintage, or perfectly unique to them.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
For us, happiness comes from creating and connecting. We’re happiest when we’re behind the camera capturing genuine moments. The big smiles, happy tears, and little details our couples might not even notice until they see their photos. Knowing that we’re preserving memories people will cherish for a lifetime is such an incredible feeling.
One of our favorite parts of the process is hearing our couples’ reactions after they receive their gallery. Seeing their excitement, reading their heartfelt messages, and knowing that some are even brought to tears of joy. That’s the best feeling in the world. It reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
We’re also happiest when we’re working together. Building this business as friends has been such a gift. It’s turned our shared passion into something meaningful we get to experience side by side. Watching our couples laugh, relax, and fully enjoy their day because they trust us makes every moment behind the camera worth it.
