Rising Stars: Meet Tasha Thompson of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Thompson.

Hi Tasha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story has definitely been a journey of purpose, pivots, and passion.

I’ve always had a heart for service and community. For over 20 years, I worked in social services in Illinois, supporting families and empowering young parents—especially those who needed someone to believe in them. I’ve always found joy in uplifting others, but during the pandemic, something unexpected happened: I discovered that I could make extra income with my love for crafting. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a small business making custom door mats—because even your welcome mat should make a statement!

That same spark of creativity led me to start a nonprofit, write a few books, start motivational speaking and develop tools that speak to people’s hearts. I’m a lover of all things motivational and inspiring, so naturally I wanted to create resources that help others push through their toughest days—things like affirmation cards, workbooks, and journals that speak life into the soul.

When I moved to Texas in 2021, I thought I was just coming to slow down—but Texas had other plans! I was immediately surrounded by a vibrant culture of entrepreneurs and dreamers. Including my own children who are all Entrepreneurs! It reignited something in me. My mind was constantly buzzing with new ideas and possibilities. I realized that I could not only survive here—I could thrive. This was a place that respected bold ideas and encouraged creative energy.

Today, I’m the founder of Scribble Studio Co., where I design faith-based, empowering stationery to remind people of their strength and purpose. Whether someone is using my affirmation cards, flipping through one of my upcoming journals, or reading one of my books or working in one of my workbooks, my hope is that they walk away feeling uplifted, encouraged, and inspired to keep going.

Because if I’ve learned anything on this journey, it’s that even in uncertain times, purpose always finds a way to shine through.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all—but it’s been meaningful, and that’s what keeps me going.

When I moved from Illinois to Texas in 2021, I was stepping into a whole new world. The culture, pace, and energy were completely different. While it was exciting, it also came with its share of challenges. I had to re-learn how to find my place, my people, and honestly—myself again. Figuring out what I wanted to focus on, narrowing in on my niche, and identifying my true target audience was (and still is) a journey.

I’ve had to remind myself not to jump on every trend or chase every “next big thing,” but instead to stay grounded in my purpose. That’s not always easy when you’re creative and inspired by so many different ideas! There have definitely been moments of self-doubt, decision fatigue, and wondering if I should go all in or play it safe—especially with the rising cost of… well, everything! It’s hard to know what the next step should be when you’re balancing passion with practicality.

And while building community in a new state has taken time, I’m slowly starting to find my tribe—and that’s made all the difference. I’ve also learned to lean into what makes me unique and trust the process, even when it feels uncertain.

My children keep me in the loop and remind me what’s hot (and what’s definitely not). At the end of the day, I’ve learned that the road might not be smooth, but it’s shaping me into the woman, creator, and business owner I’m meant to be. I wouldn’t trade that growth for anything.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve worked in social services for over 20 years, and throughout that time, I’ve remained a fierce champion of the underdog. Whether supporting at-risk youth, advocating for young parents, or walking alongside individuals in difficult seasons, I’ve always believed in fighting for those who may not have a voice. That same passion continues to fuel everything I do.

Currently, I serve as the Coordinator of Student Affairs at Tarrant County College, where I’m honored to be part of a team that uplifts and empowers students every day. I love the work I do and the people I get to do it with.

In addition to my professional role, I mentor women in various workspaces—offering guidance, encouragement, and real-talk support as they navigate career, calling, and confidence. I believe that when women support each other, incredible things happen.

I’m also the founder of Scribble Studio Co., a faith-based stationery brand that provides affirmation cards, journals, and workbooks designed to inspire and uplift. My goal is to give people that extra push when life gets heavy—because sometimes all it takes is a few encouraging words to shift everything.

What I’m most proud of is my legacy of service. I founded a nonprofit organization in Illinois that served families and youth, and it became a true family mission—my husband and children served right alongside me. It was hard work, but incredibly fulfilling, and to this day we still see the fruit of our labor in the lives of those we supported. That experience shaped so much of who I am and how I lead. To this day – our adult children will make food and ride around town and see what homeless people we can give them to. That’s just who we are.

What sets me apart is the heart I bring to the table—whether it’s through mentoring, creating, or serving my community. I’m driven by purpose, grounded in compassion, and committed to showing up for others in meaningful ways. That’s the work I’m honored to do every day.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to meaningful collaborations, partnerships, and opportunities that align with purpose, creativity, and community. Whether it’s a speaking engagement, workshop, or a project tied to women’s empowerment, or inspirational content—I’d love to hear from you!

You can also support my work through my faith-based stationery brand, Scribble Studio Co., where I offer affirmation cards, journals, and tools designed to encourage and uplift. Sharing these products, gifting them to someone in need of inspiration, or simply spreading the word means the world to me.
