Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasnia Ullah.
Hi Tasnia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Tasnia Ullah, and I am a wedding planner and day-of wedding coordinator based in Dallas, Texas, serving clients all across the state. Ever since I was little, I’ve always been fascinated by wedding celebrations, whether it was attending them or watching my parents’ and aunts’ wedding documentaries on repeat.
In middle school, I took one of those career tests where you answer a bunch of questions and it suggests what career might suit you best. Mine said “wedding planner,” and that moment always stuck with me. Of course, when I got to college, I realized there isn’t really a specific course you can take to become a wedding planner, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
In the summer of 2023, I launched a wedding content creation page within the Dallas South Asian community and became one of the first Desi wedding content creators in the area. Through that experience, I fell even more in love with the wedding industry. I spent a lot of time networking and building relationships with vendors and couples, which eventually made me realize I wanted to do something bigger, something that allowed me to be more hands-on in the wedding day experience.
In the fall of 2024, I officially launched my wedding coordination services. When I first started, I honestly didn’t expect it to gain as much traction as it did. But we grew slowly and beautifully. Today, I have a team of wedding coordinators, and together we have successfully completed over 75 wedding events from fall 2024 to the beginning of 2026. It has been incredibly rewarding to be part of so many meaningful celebrations and to support couples during such an important moment in their lives.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Starting a business completely on your own comes with many challenges. I was fresh out of college, so stepping out into the world with a brand new business and barely knowing how to run one was definitely a learning process. Like many entrepreneurs starting from scratch, I wear many hats. I manage everything from finances and marketing to administration and client relationships.
As a business owner who started from scratch, one of the biggest sacrifices has been giving up a lot of personal time. I’m almost always “clocked in,” and the majority of my wedding events take place on weekends, which means I miss out on many family and friends’ celebrations and don’t always get to spend as much time with them as I’d like. It was difficult to adjust at first because I get FOMO very easily. But over time, I realized how important this dream is to me and how far I want to take it. Those sacrifices started to feel worth it.
At the beginning of this year, I also made one of the biggest decisions of my career, I left my corporate job to pursue my wedding planning business full-time. It was definitely nerve-wracking because of all the “what ifs,” but I knew that if I truly wanted to grow this business and reach my full potential, I had to give it my all. Taking that leap of faith has been one of the most rewarding steps in my journey so far.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a wedding planner and day-of wedding coordinator based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in South Asian weddings. My team and I focus on helping couples bring their vision to life while making sure the wedding day runs seamlessly from start to finish. We handle everything from creating detailed timelines and coordinating with vendors to managing logistics on the day of the event so couples and their families can truly enjoy the celebration without worrying about the behind-the-scenes details.
South Asian weddings are incredibly vibrant and meaningful, often spanning multiple events with many moving parts. Because of this, organization, strong communication, and attention to detail are extremely important in the work that we do. We pride ourselves on being calm problem-solvers and making sure every part of the day flows smoothly.
One thing that truly sets us apart is how much we prioritize building strong relationships with our clients and their families. In South Asian weddings especially, the families are very involved, and creating that trust and connection is so important. We treat every wedding as if it were a sibling’s or best friend’s wedding. That mindset pushes us to go above and beyond and make sure every detail is taken care of to the T.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible support system around me. My friends have been my number one supporters from the very start. From being my biggest cheerleaders to constantly hyping me up on social media and recommending my services to their friends and families, their encouragement has meant so much to me.
My little cousin Afia also deserves so much credit. She is the senior coordinator on our team and has been such an important part of this journey. She adjusts her schedule and gives up many of her weekends to help manage wedding events, and she does it so seamlessly.
My cousin Zahra has also been one of my biggest supporters since day one. She was actually the first person I shared my business idea with. She’s a future lawyer in the making, woohoo! From giving me legal advice to brainstorming ways to grow the business, she has always been someone I can lean on.
I’m also incredibly grateful for the rest of my amazing team, Amran, Fariha, Nuha, Sheeza, and Nishaat. Each of them brings so much dedication and talent to every event we coordinate. One of the most beautiful parts of this journey has been building such meaningful friendships along the way.
