Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Jones-Waldon.
Hi Tatiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always been intrigued since high school about lip/lip care products such as (lipglosses, lip serums and lip scrub). I use to research how these products were made. I thought my dream of making my own glosses was very far fetch so I put it on the back burner (for longer than I should have). That was 11 years ago. After going off to college, and obtaining a degree, getting married and having kids , and a trade, and working a job that literally drained me. I started thinking about my passion again. I prayed on it and took my last 100$ and started making organic lipgloss.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a real struggle at first. I didn’t have the support that I had hoped for, so I struggled with that for awhile. Perfecting serums and recipes, taught me patience and to also always trust the process. There have been times I wanted to actually quit. Going to therapy for my anxiety has improved how I look at my business. This is my passion, and I am meant to be doing just this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the owner of CC-NIQUE COSMETICS. Named after 2 of my sons, I specialize in making organic vegan friendly lipglosses and lip scrubs. I am known for making lipgloss in all shades and colors. I am most proud of how far I’ve come in a over a years time period. I became pregnant during the beginning of the pandemic with my third son and I didn’t let that stop me from perfecting my craft. What sets me apart from others is that most glosses are super thick and are only clear. My glosses are light weight, they also moisturize the lips while wearing so that even when you are not wearing my glosses your lips are still soft, smooth and supple.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To keep the faith. I keep a prayer journal that I write in every morning. It’s what keeps me grounded and humble. I can be honest and say, I don’t always have good days, but I keep the faith because I could not picture myself doing anything else but what my purpose is, and that is to make lipgloss.
