Today we’d like to introduce you to The Vintage Yell. They and their team shared their story with us below:
The Vintage Yell is a duo from North Texas whose sound can be described as soulful Americana but goes much deeper than that. Chris Raspante and Jesse Spradlin met while working in the studio on Jesse’s solo material. They worked so well together they later decided to form a band.
Jesse is a Virginia born/Texas-grown singer-songwriter who comes from a very musical family. Her father is a blues Hall of Famer. Chris was born and raised in Texas but spent nearly twenty years in Nashville, playing and recording with countless artists. He’s performed on the Tonight Show, the Grand Ol’ Opry, and at many other notable venues. Together, they’ve established themselves as a strong live act, playing all over North Texas and beyond.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well, each of us has spent many years developing our craft as musicians and artists, but the band actually came together surprisingly fast. After working with each other in the studio on Jesse’s solo material, we started writing together and quickly decided we should be a band. -Chris
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I hope people listening to our band can see and hear the time, dedication, and attention to detail that we feel proudly about putting into it. It feels like we put a year’s worth of work into a four-month period, just getting things off the ground. That involved as many things off the stage as it did on the stage. For example, things from rehearsing and writing music to booking and online marketing. -Jesse
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Work ethic. That is one of the biggest things in the music business, or any business, that can make the difference between success and failure.
